I've always said that my kids have a little strange preferences. Adult tastes, so to speak. They love spicy food, they prefer going out to eat rather than going to the beach, they love horror movies and for them a perfect weekend outing is to go visit the planta nursery hehe!
Hello friends, a big hug from Isla Margarita! I hope you had a very productive week and that your weekend was even better.
Today I want to tell you a little about a visit we made to one of the oldest nurseries on the island "Jardines Margarita ". This plant nursery is located in the municipality of Maneiro, specifically in Los Robles.
I have known this place since I was a child because it was one of the favorite stops of my parents every time we went out to make a purchase or run an errand.
Both my father, who is now deceased, and my mother love plants of all kinds, at home we have always had a lot of fruit and ornamental trees and although I am not the same fan of plants as them, I enjoyed those visits very much.
Seeing so much green together and brightly colored flowers is something that all our senses appreciate and this is a taste that I think my children inherited from their grandparents because it definitely wasn't from me hehe.
My son Matias in particular likes to plant a lot. He doesn't really have a preference, it can be a fruit plant or an ornamental plant that has caught his attention. He has planted patilla, melon, corn, passion fruit, beans, sunflowers, tulips, rosemary, thyme, chives and many other things!
Miranda, the youngest in the house, although not as inclined to plant, really enjoys the beauty of ornamental plants, especially those with bright colors and unusual shapes.
As I said at the beginning, they have very particular tastes because since they were little they enjoy things that are strange for children and among those things is the visit to the plants nurseries. The truth is that I can't imagine many children constantly asking their parents to visit the plant nursery hehehehe.
In the case of my children they surely feel that inclination because they live surrounded by plants at home and also because we constantly went with grandma (my father died a few days after Matías was born, 23 days exactly) either for fertilizer or vitamins for their plants or to buy some new ones.
So for Matias and Miranda it has become common to frequent them even if we don't go to buy anything. They really enjoy looking at the plants and walking among them.
Miranda especially enjoys discovering new flowers and colors that she didn't know she could see in a flower, so it is really a delight for her.
With the pandemic my children were at home quite isolated. We didn't go out with them and in fact we didn't go out much and when the measures against covid were relaxed one of the first places they asked to visit was the plant nursery!
So for the month of December we went to one that is closer to home but does not have as much variety as the one they had been asking to go to for quite some time, but as it is located in an area that we do not frequent very often we had not been able to please them but finally on Saturday we took advantage of an outing and took them there.
I really did not expect to find it so beautiful because due to the economic crisis in our country many businesses have closed or exhibit very little merchandise, but the nursery was as or more beautiful than I remembered it.
You enter this place and immediately you breathe peace, a delicious breeze that brushes your face and that green mixed with so many shades of colors that bring floral plants are a real treat for the eyes.
The children immediately dispersed. Matias went with his dad to look at the fruit trees and Miranda was with me enjoying the great variety of beautifully colored flowers in the plant nursery.
They had all kinds of plants! Fruit plants, ornamental plants with or without flowers, plants for landscaping shopping centers or residential complexes, in short, a great variety.
Besides that, in the plant nursery they have a sector full of pots of all types and sizes as well as decorative items for gardens.
My kids explored every corner and enjoyed the beauty of each plant that was in the place and as the plant nursery is super big there was a lot to see and especially to walk around.
They were thrilled with every plant they could recognize because we have them at home or because we had them at some point. They discovered some that they did not know and were surprised by the size of some very small and others very large.
I understand that for some people this is not a great outing but my children constantly ask to go and they really enjoy it. If it were up to them they would go every weekend just to walk through its aisles full of trees and brightly colored flowers.
As I said I am not a plant lover but I really enjoy visiting the plant nursery. Seeing so much life, so much green and so much beauty together is something that recharges you with a nice energy.
It is that even the air that you breathe in that place is different. It is impossible not to feel at peace. As I said at the beginning, it is an enjoyment for our senses and every time we have the opportunity we will visit it.
On the other hand, I find beautiful the love that my children feel for nature, for trees and all kinds of plants, because that love helps them to be respectful and careful with our environment.
It may not be the most common place to go for a walk but it is one that my children enjoy very much and from which you leave recharged and grateful to God for so many beautiful things that surround us and which we can enjoy.
Kisses and blessings. Big hugs to all of you!
