Hi to all!
Today is Sunday and it is traditionally my day off. The morning was rather cold and gloomy due to heavy fog. I got up a little later today, had breakfast. And over coffee, I thought about how to spend my day off from work.
Not far from Spinea is the town of Mirano. I decided to go there on my bicycle. There are wonderful Venetian villas, canals, a beautiful historic city center. I have been to Mirano many times. But every time I found something new for myself.
And you know, I came across the goose fair, which takes place on November 11 and 12 in the center of Mirano on its main square. The fair has ancient historical roots. Back in the 19th century, on these November days, residents of the surrounding villages celebrated the end of agricultural work. And since most of the owners of rural fields and farms were, they consumed goose meat. At that time, the goose was fat and its meat was tender. Since then, a goose fair has been held in Mirano every year.
At the fair, spread along the entire square, there are stalls with a variety of goods. All products are dedicated to thick. These are also products made of wood, or ceramics, or cookies. There are many goose meat products at the fair. I also bought myself a goose neck stuffed with meat.
Mirano is very festive today. Flags fly on the houses. And from every corner looks a big white goose! Attention is drawn to the primitive tools that helped the peasants in the household. Also on display are machines and tractors that were used in agriculture and eased people's work.
When I stepped on the fair, it was as if I was transported back in time. All sellers were dressed in costumes of the 19th century, which were characteristic of this area. I was simply enchanted by these black long cloth raincoats. Such raincoats were sold in one of the shops. But the prices are very high. The company Tabarro.it makes such wonderful raincoats and accessories for them.
This beautiful lady bought herself this black dress coat. He likes her very much. I complimented her.
And I could try on a couple of wonderful hats...
People happily posed for photos. Everyone was happy about this fair. Both sellers and buyers were satisfied. Children had fun with toy swords and shields. For the youngest, parents bought whistles in the shape of a goose and rode on a bright carousel.
Everyone who came to the fair found something for their pleasure. You could drink hot wine and eat risotto with goose meat or just listen to Italian songs performed by an ensemble called I Toca mi.

Acrobats on stilts and on strange bicycles attracted the attention of the public.
A photo studio was located in one of the ponds, where you could take photos in the style of the 19th century.
And geese, geese, geese... ceramic, embroidered on towels and a bag, made of grass and wood.
A wonderful holiday for everyone! A wonderful holiday that is worth waiting
for all year!
Thank you to everyone who read my post and viewed my self-made photos. I think you were able to feel the mood of the goose fair and all the emotions and atmosphere that raged that day on the square in Mirano!
See you soon at Hive!
