Congratulations to everyone who will read my story!
Today I want to write a post in the Weekend Experiences group for the first time. I want to tell you about my trip to Bassano del Grappa. This city is not far from the city of Spinea, where I currently live. Bassano del Grappa is divided into two parts by the river Brenta. Above all, I love cities where the river flows. Where there is a river, the city is always beautiful! Where there is a river, there are bridges that also decorate the cities. The most famous bridge in Bassano del Grappa is the Old Alpine Bridge (Ponte degli Alpini). The bridge has a long history. The wooden bridge, designed by Andrea Palladio in 1569, was more than once destroyed by the elements of water or by human hands. But the bridge stands to this day, restored according to the drawings of the famous architect.
The bridge always attracts townspeople and tourists at any time of the year. Friends and lovers make their appointments here. It is always crowded. On Sunday, the weather turned out to be wonderful and there was nowhere for an apple to fall on the bridge. The bridge offers wonderful views. The mountain peaks of the Alps can be seen in the distance. On both sides of the river there are houses that seem like a fairy tale. Photographs immortalize extraordinary beauty.
This time I had a great desire to walk along the river bank to admire Brenta's extraordinary beauty up close. This mountain river has a winding course like a snake. It is quiet and flowing, flowing between the stones that protrude densely from under the water. Between the stones I saw a river trout fighting the current and stubbornly overcoming its path.
The banks of the river were densely overgrown with bushes and trees, which autumn painted in crimson-golden colors. The blue sky, golden-leaved trees and mountains overhanging the river are reflected in the water like a mirror. The path is lined with the first fallen leaves like a carpet. The golden path winds, repeating all the bends of the river.
Near the river, clear, ringing air. You can hear the chirping of birds that are not in a hurry and are having their own conversation. Somewhere, a bumblebee got lost in time, circled around me and flew to look for the last flowers to collect some nectar.
Benches have been built along the shore so that you can sit down and look at this divine beauty.
To listen to the cheerful murmur of water falling from rapids that create cascades. It is not for nothing that they say that you can watch fire burning and water flowing forever.
Under a stone overhanging the path, someone made a nativity scene out of doll figures. The city is preparing for Christmas.
The huge tree is under protection due to its old age. It grows here near the river and remembers ancient times.
On the way we met wonderful statuettes of an unknown sculptor who created birds from wooden logs. The birds seem real from afar. It seems that the heron will suddenly spread its wings and fly away, and the owl will turn its head and hoot. Wooden birds very organically merged with nature.
Autumn days are short. The sun has already set on the top of the mountains and is about to fall on the other side. Suteniye It gets dark quickly in the mountains and nearby and I have to go back. Near Bassano del Grappa I can see the city in the evening lights. The golden palette of autumn...
I feel joy and a surge of energy. My journey helped me to distract myself from the sad thoughts of today. After all, a bloody war is going on in my country, which was started by our bloodthirsty neighbor. My family is separated because of the war. Worrying thoughts do not leave me day or night. Only in the bosom of nature can I find peace and tranquility. I am happy that this Sunday I chose such a rest!
Thank you for reading and viewing the photos.
See you at Hive next
