I think there is no one in this world who doesn’t have nickname or pet name. It all starts from the childhood when parents or siblings tag you with some other name. Sometimes it is with love and sometimes it is for teasing you. It is very difficult in the beginning to get used to it but when time passes, it becomes normal to hear such names.
In my case till now, I was awarded with different monikers. It is my pleasure to share all of them LOL.
I just smile when I think about my childhood. Me along with my three elder brothers have nicknames. They used to call me KALLU BHAI. I don’t remember who tagged me this name but the reason was my skin color which was little dark as compared to my elder brothers. Whenever there is a fight between us, they used to tease me with this name. I won’t disclose the nicknames of my brothers
My maternal aunts gave me a pet name as FADDO, which is something different and unique so I like it from the beginning. Maternal Grandfather loved me a lot and gave me the title “PADORA” meaning who farts a lot but I don’t remember if ever did this in front of him, maybe it was just for fun.
In school life, everyone used to call me with my surname ANSARI. No other names were obtained in school life.
In my first job, people there call me NOAH. I didn’t get it and was confused what does that means. After a couple of months, when I get mixed up with them then I asked about it. NOAH is one of the characters from the movie American Pie and I look like him. No way, there is no match at all but who cares, they just tagged me this name and there was no other option for me except to accept it.
One of my friend shared this pic on FB
Recently, my friends call me PANOTI which means unlucky or unfortunate to others. It is so funny and have a back long story. However, in short, my friends experienced many mishaps and trouble when I am with them or around them. It is coincidence or by chance but it all goes in my account.
I would like to share few of the name given to others.
I have put numbers in the above picture for identification
Re Ra Ra Ru : These are the words of a song from Bollywood movie pictured on Sanjay Dutt. One of my friend had that look and walking style so we used to sing this song on his entry in office. Later on his name changed to Re ra ra Ru and we used to call him with these words.
Steel Body & loading : he keeps his body so straight and so firm, looks like his bones are made up of steel. Loading because he don’t talk much and when asked something, didn’t respond timely. He is a bit late in reacting to things.
Kanrey : I used this word a lot rather than abusing someone. It means the faulty one. It was so often used that my manager also call this name to a person who doesn’t work properly or comes late. It is dedicated to one of my friend and I always address one of my friend with this word.
Charas : means drugs. This title belongs to one of my friend who smokes a lot.
Since childhood, we at home used to say words which doesn’t mean anything. One of my closest friend is rewarded with such words and I always use to call him with different words like Sheema Shama, Shimbros, lala looms , jhimbros and many more but not with his actual name. At work, others call him PATHAN.
It was so much fun writing this article, hope you all feel the same. Cheers!!!
