It's been a hot week and it is gonna be a hotter weekend so I decided to wake up early and go for a short bike before the Sun was too strong.
I went for a short run as I was going alone and still have to be careful about my wasp allergy, have been taking shots for about two months now but I still have to take the adrenaline pen shots with me in the event I get bitten again.
I left the house and took several tracks before reaching uphill. It is a nice hilly area not far away from the big city. I crossed several old shepherds' rock houses.
And crossed a small farm with a vineyard.
When I started going up I was able to contemplate the beauty of the hill in front which is called the Needles (top image) for the shape of the rocks on the pinnacle. There are some tea plants growing up there and I like to take some home when climbing up there.
As I was reaching the top of the hill I was able to see the fire watch tower. There used to be a guard up there every day most of the summer, now they control fires with drones and other equipment and you hardly see anyone there anymore.
There are some castle ruins you could barely see because of the brightness as I was taking the shot facing the ocean, but luckily I managed to capture the silhouette in this shot.
And then, a slightly more technical track downhill which I love to ride.
Finally, here's the map of the track.
