This weeks topic for Weekend Experience Community were all very interesting that I find it hard to choose what to write but it all ended up with me choosing the topic of whether to return an unpaid item or not because earlier I went to the convenience store to buy some snacks and find that I can use the stuff that I bought for my thumbnail. But when it comes to my answer to this question, I'm not gonna lie and say that I will definitely return it or would criticize those that choose not to return them as the money that they can saved by not paying for that item may not make them rich but it may allow them to allocate it to their other needs. So my answer for the question is that it depends with the situation and some other factors that I will try to explain on this post.

Depending on the location of the establishment where I bought, I might consider returning it back if it was near to where I am or lets say a maximum of 15 minutes travel time from my location. More than that and I will choose to keep the Item for it will be a waste of my resources, energy and time for me which I know that I would not be compensated. Another thing to consider would be if the establishment was along my travel route going to my job or not since if it is, I can just drop to either pay or return the item as it will not really cost me much time or I can just do it the next time I need to buy something from the establishment. However, if its far from me and only just go there because there was an item that I could not buy anywhere near me, I would likely to keep the item since I do not know when is the next time that I will go back there and by the time that I buy something again at that store, the staff might not even remember that I previously bought there that goes the same with the unpaid item.
I would also consider the cost of the item in question if I should return it or not. If the Item cost was around 20- 50$, I will most likely keep the Item for myself since it won't probably hurt the establishment and would just overlook it specially if they were like big corporate stores and this lost does not even affect them but if it goes higher than that, I would probably return or pay for the item as the staff might be held accountable for the item or they conduct review on their CCTV and label me as shoplifter when they saw on the footage that I have the item. On the other hand, if the establishment was more of a small- time business, that amount would probably take a hit on his livelihood and I would consider turning the item back.
Just to be on the safe side, even if I do not have any intention of paying back the item, I would still take a picture of the said item's QR code so that if I will be forced to pay for the item or is troubled by the guilt and changes my mind, I can always pay for it anytime.

And I think that was it for this post. This was in participation with the Weekend Experience Community with topics provided by
