Howdy, dear friends in this beautiful community. How are you? I wish you all safe and sound. Due to the declaration of the President of the Philippines, February 24, 2023, as a non-working holiday, it's a long weekend once again. My friends invited me over to spend the weekend in the city. Without a second thought, I agree. Well, making a short visit to them will surely bring a lot of laughter and memories once again.
Planning to wander around the city is what we wanted to do. Going to a place we have never been to create long-lasting memories for us is the best. Beforehand, low-cost travel should be the top consideration for we are not born with a golden spoon. Working hard to finance our unplanned trips is always our motivation.
We were looking for a place to unwind and then we saw this post on Facebook about Kahoy Café, since this is just near to where we are staying so we went there.
Kahoy Café is just a 6 minutes ride from where my friends are staying, but still, we are wondering which way to go. Since it is our first time, we were confused if we were heading the right way. The café is situated 5 minutes away from SM Consolacion Cebu and very accessible to the public since it is just near the highway. With the help of waze and google maps, we arrive at the exact place.
Arriving at the place, you will see a label named "kahoy (which means trees) café" and a lot of fully grown trees nearby. Tall and shady trees will meet you at the entrance.
The entrance to the place is very native. It is made of bamboo poles piled on top of the entrance gate. The gate is also made of bamboo splits.
For me, the entrance of the place looks so small maybe because they are still new and fresh but when you go inside, you will be amazed at their native huts and greenery plants.
The place looks cozy and very unique. You will surely feel the ambiance of the woods and the café which is a perfect spot to relax and recharge.
Since it is our first time in the place, we don't know what to order. So we are looking at their menus and a lot of food to choose from.
The barista who is very approachable looks for vacant seats for us. While waiting for our orders, we roam around the place and took more photos.
The nipa huts' exterior and interior designs seem so elegant. You can see that the staffs are very much quality in choosing what to put in the place from the lighting down to the seats. Which made visitors comfortable to stay with.
The space inside the nipa huts is just a little bit smaller, so staffs add more tables and chairs outside the nipa huts to cater more visitors to come.
The reception area is very much classic. A mix of modern and native styles. On the lower ground, you can have the reception area where the baristas are very much approachable to anyone. You can also see the different foods on their menu in the area.
On the upper floor, you can have another space for visitors. It's good to be on the second floor also because you can see the whole area, but unfortunately, when we visit the place, the second floor is full so we don't have the chance to see the view from the upper area. A lot of people are coming today because it's the weekend and families and friends made some get-togethers.
During our visit, my friends wanted to try their best seller Kahoy coffee mix with milk and vanilla ice cream, and Mocha Frappuccino. To savor our visit, we order some pizza and fries to make it best paired with our drinks.
We had a good time talking about our updates in life. Indeed, the best food, shared with good people will truly add value to the food.
Trying out their food is awesome. It was worth remembering, Another memory to be treasured is how to mix Kahoy coffee with ice cream which is the very first time for us. We are just observing how others do it. and eventually, it turns out our best moments together.
If you are done sipping your drinks and eating your food order, you can stay in the place for a little swing. There are two swings placed outside the nipa huts which are free for everyone to use and take pictures of.
On the left side of the reception area are chairs available for you to relax and unwind while waiting for orders or taking some rest after eating and drinking.
Indeed, it was a well-spent weekend for us. Even for a short time catching up with each other's life is superb. Making memories with your true friends is what makes life more meaningful.
As Auliq Ice said, “A strong friendship doesn't need daily conversation, doesn't always need togetherness, as long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part.”
Being lost in Kahoy Café over the weekend is never a loss but a gain for all of us. We enjoy sipping our coffee in the woods, we create another memory to be treasured forever.
