After a long week at work, we all look forward to spending time with family on the weekends. But last saturday we had an opportunity to attend a literary event organized by Iqbal Academy Scandinavia. In which my son also expressed his views regarding Allama Iqbal. It was great to see him so confident and articulate in front of such a large audience. We are very proud of him and his achievement.
The highlight of the event was Jan Henningsson's address. It was very interesting to hear about Allama Iqbal from a Swedish perspective. Jan Henningsson is a Swedish scholar, researcher, writer, and diplomat who has held several high-level positions in the Swedish government, including Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the Alexandria Institute in Egypt. He is an expert on Islamic affairs and has written extensively on the topic. In his address at Iqbal Day in Stockholm, he presented his quite interesting and detailed views on Kalam Iqbal.
He makes many references to Iqbal's words and thoughts, and also gives us many passages from the Holy Qur'an. He explains the thought of Allama Iqbal by describing the details given in the Qur'an on the creation of Adam. His view on Kalam Iqbal is that he was a great thinker and poet who had a profound influence on many Swedish poets. He said that Iqbal's words are full of wisdom and knowledge, and that they have the power to inspire people to think deeply about life and its purpose.

Jan Henningsson said that, it is certainly unfortunate that Allama Iqbal did not receive the Nobel Prize, as his work has had a great impact on the western world. One reason is that his work didn't reach the Academy of Sweden.
It is indeed a matter of great pride for us when Swedish or Non-Pakistani talk about our homeland and anything related to it. We feel a sense of belonging and connection to our country when others show an interest in it. And we are especially proud when they have taken the time to learn about our culture and history. Jan Henningsson, who knows a little bit of Urdu, was inspired by Allama Iqbal thoughts, one of our most revered poets. We are always pleased when foreigners take an interest in our homeland and we hope that Jan's experience will inspire others to do the same.
