About 10 years and 4 months ago I visited Malaysia during the summer break of 2013. For those that don't know, I grew up in California and was living there up until 2021. This was the time when I was super into K-pop but not crazy until I knew every members name and stuff or bought merchandise. This is also where I went to my first concert in my life and if I'm not wrong it was like an early birthday present from my dad since I wouldn't be in Malaysia for my birthday. It was the AIA K-pop 2013 concert; the venue was Stadium Bukit Jalil. This concert featured three K-pop groups from Cube Entertainment. They were BEAST, 4MINUTE and G.NA. I went with one of my cousins who was also into K-pop.
Unfortunately at that time, I wasn't really into taking photos of things let alone taking photos of myself. Since I don't have any photos from that time, I had to be a bit creative. I looked online for some people that maybe took videos or photos of the concert and I believe I found myself in one of those videos which I screenshotted in the image below with an arrow pointing at who I believe is me. I wore glasses and I was quite tan back then due to playing sports in the summer.

So my cousin and I were in the rock zone which was RM350 per ticket and you have to stand but this is like as close to the stage as you can get. You can't really tell but there's like a fence blocking you from getting onto the stage with some guards around there. I do recall having thoughts about jumping over the fence when G.NA since I was a huge fan of her at that time. I didn't do it though because I don't have the guts plus the guard looked super buff and scary.
If You're curious to see what the actual seating plan looked like
Overall, I had a great time and I can't believe it's already been 10 years since this happened. It's definitely a different experience listening to the music live than through headphones or speakers on Spotify. Sadly, these groups are not active anymore so I won't be able to attend any of their concerts.
Anyways this is the first and last concert I've been to. Hopefully, I will attend more in the future after making more money because concerts are expensive!.
The topics this week was a bit tough for me but this is my go at it. I'm glad we had this topic though because I was able to recall this memory of my first concert. Forgive me Galenkp, I really wish I did have photos that I took myself attending the concert but at least I did some effort in drawing the seating layout.
