It's been two years since I have last vacationed. And to tell you frankly, this contest is calling attention to it!
I've been thinking about it lately... what I would like to see, where I would go, the places to visit, the food to try and taste, the wine, etc., etc., etc.. But isn't that a default... fill the few days of vacation with things to do?
That's probably not how I would like to spend my ideal weekend.
How is my regular weekend?
My weekends are Saturdays and Sundays. Others who work like me, their weekends fall on different days.
Saturdays are very busy days for me! As soon as I wake up, I strip the bed of sheets and pillowcases, put them in the washer; brush my teeth, wash my face; then prepare my breakfast which is usually heavier than usual; I eat and at the same time work on the #ladiesofhive for about an hour or so. After which my Yorkies are fed and play with them, then I go around the backyard and the front yard (with my Yorkies are always with me) to check on my plants while doing a scrutiny of the surrounding. At 10:30 AM the laundry is pulled and onto the dryer; then I dress up to go shopping at the Dollar Store and the next door grocery. My Yorkies come with me! At 11:15- 11:35 I am at the park, feeding the homeless. I bring them canned goods and they like the roasted chicken, especially the children. I visit one elderly with my dogs, and by 12:45 PM I head for home. Time to prepare my lunch and eat. The bed get new sheets, I tidy up my room and anything else requiring my like my dresser and clothes. During Summers, I swim (rather frolic in the water) for thirty minutes, then take a bath after and do my weekly beauty routine while I load the washer of clothes if there is any. At 3:30 I do Hive for an hour and two. The dogs are sleeping at this time. If I have a party to attend, or if I'm having a get-together at home, I'm busy preparing food. If not, I prepare my dinner, eat, and do a major chore of the week. Then I feed my Yorkies. At about 8 PM I do #ladiesofhive till about 9:15 PM, plan for the next day, do my prayers and go to bed.
Do you find your weekends to be busy? Like... it is way busier than regular workdays, hehehe.
Sundays are as busy but it starts slow. As soon as a wake-up, I prepare my coffee and toast or cereals, and have my breakfast in the backyard. My yorkies get fed too. With my laptop with me, I work on #ladiesofhive till it is 8:45 AM. I start preparing for Mass. Shampoo, dryer, fix hair, makeup, dress-up, shoes... by 10:30 AM I am out the door for the 11:00 Mass. After mass I sometimes I have lunch with the ladies or have some other commitment. I am usually back home till 3 PM. If I have the time I bring the Yorkies to the groomer to be bathe or if not, I do it myself. I dress down for the house... I love this feeling of dressing down for the house! I give my Yorkies a bath. The indoor plants get watered on Sundays. Ater that, I go to the music room and play the piano or whatever instrument I feel like playing... for 30 minute or so. I'm learning a new piece in the piano this week! Time to prepare my dinner, and while I am at it, I watch YouTube cooking channels or learning more about cryptos. After eating my dinner, I bake. ...an artisan bread, 2 loaves slice bread, and a tray of dinner rolls. The dishwasher gets loaded with the remaining dishes. Feeding the Yorkies is a pleasure! Then I do #ladiesofhive until 9:15 PM. My make-up is off my face, I bathe again. I plan for the next day, do my prayers and go to bed.
An ideal weekend is a rest from house chores. More like my Sundays but doing less than what I normally would do so that I can do more of what I am unable to do.
My ideal weekend.
For me to have an ideal weekend, someone has to prepare all my meals, do laundry & ironing, water the plants, bathe and feed my Yorkies, do the dishes, and tidy the house a bit! I can do baking or do it with someone, because I love to bake bread, cakes and pies.
I can imagine myself giving all the time that is needed in helping others. It seems that I am always in a hurry. I pretend to give time. but I am watching the clock, always. So I just have enough time to drop off the lunches for the homeless people in park. Then I go. I can spend quality time with whoever I am visiting and have the time to listen to her/him.
I can watch all the Youtube videos as I need too. I can do Hive whenever I want, for as long as I want. I can take photos; read a book; try to write a poem; play the piano longer, or the guitar, or ukelele, or the violin; email my friends more often! I can do my beaty stuff without haste. I can rest and take a nap in the afternoons. I can do these and more of the things that I love like add a tree rose.
I CAN!
Now, if I wasn't so stingy and I wasn't stacking, I could hire help during the weekends!
Maybe I should do it once in a while. I have a cleaning lady that comes once a month already and a handyman to do repair & maintenance of the house. Hmmmm.... something to think about.
Ahhh... then once in a while I can have my ideal weekend.
