The situation of our farming is not good so far. Inadequate rainfall is causing a lot of problems. In last three days we do not have a single drop of rain. Still all the farmer have not lost the hope. This is what they were praying whole year to have good yield.
My situation is not different, while I have sowing done on one field, still other fields are not even ploughed. Yesterday, I notice a small crack in my field, and 5his Sunday, I took my men to mend it.
I have different fields for farming in the village, however they were in diferent location. While last time I showed you my field near the jungle, today I will share the update from field near to our village temple. The field is located just behind the temple. It was right there on the right with green patches of grass. The other on left has already been ploughed and left as it is.
The crack is open in the corner, which needed to be mend. Due to heavy rainfall few days ago causing the crack, which let lot of water flowed into my field. The first and foremost part in farming is to have balanced water level in soil. Too much water may affect the crop. So due overflowing of rainwater, my field is having a dampen look with water all over place. The inflow of water needed to stopped as it will create ruckus during later stage of farming too.
The field is not even ploughed and having too much water is not good sign for sowing seeds. To allow the soil to dry and protect from further over flowing of water into the field, it is important to mend the broken portion. It require some skill hand work to cut out the soil from the field and fill the empty spaces /gap in the boundary. My men didn't allow me to get dirty and he himself manages as it is a little one.
After few min, he manages to fix the space. Now there is no room left for water to get inside except from the sky. This is very important for the field too as more water for prolong3d time may destroy the soil fertility. When there is excess water then we cut out to let out the water to flow to adjacent field, and so on.
The field is still dampen. There is no water draining option. So we have to wait for few days to get the sowing done on this field too. Sowing of seeds require a little wetness. Let the water dry in sunlight before we can carry ahead the farming process. Being a farmer we are very hopefull to get the things done in right way.
