“This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.”
— Theodore Roosevelt
Hello, my lovely reader. It’s me
Have you ever planned a gateway trip this summer? You can unwind and connect yourself with the beach, the mountain areas, or the city's busy streets—any place where your soul feels light.
I am raised and born in one of the most exquisite countries, loud and proud from the Asias’s Pearl of the Orient, the Philippines. This is the place where I could say “home” a place where you can find solace and enjoy your solitude.
The Philippines has so much to offer, and I am always in awe of how this country can make me feel like I am living in a movie. I have always been a fan of sunset and sunrise and whenever I feel like I need to recharge myself again, I will chase the sunset; here in my alluring country you can go outside at a specific time and you can witness the artworks of the sky painted by various colors to create a hope to anyone.
One of the reasons why foreign people want to visit our country is the beautiful tourist spots and actually, I couldn’t agree more. White sands, crystal water, and where the sea meets the ocean? Yes, we also have it here. The places here will surely take your breath away. Every second is worth living for.
But honestly, the place is just a bonus for me the real reason why this country is the only place where I can call my sanctuary it’s because of the people themselves. It’s the norms that we value the most.Tired from a long day and want to sleep on the bus ride? No worries no one will stare and judge you. Want to cry at the church and pour your emotions? Still, no one will interfere and look at you. You can do your things and everyone will mind their business.
Not to mention the Festivals that we commemorate every year, one of the famous festivals in my place is the Sinulog Festival. It celebrates the Christianity of the Philippines and it is symbolized upon the arrival of Sto. Nino and it started way back in 1521. This festival is not just about the devotion of the people but the oneness of everyone we are willing to face the hurdles that the year ahead may come and we will face it as ONE.
Also, it’s the hospitality of the Filipino people that I am truly in love with, the ability to entertain people and offer food to visitors even if it is not fancy in some ways but just the idea of offering to a guest makes my heart melt.
There are so many reasons why I am truly captivated by my own country, and the solid reason Is we come hand in hand to protect the place where we are born and raised. Filipino people are willing to die for their country, for our ancestors fought a good fight for us and we will stand by it and honor it just like they did.
I am truly proud to call myself a Filipino, Philippines is such a great country.💗💗
