Granada trip
We were initially planning to drive to Granada this weekend after we decided it was time to catch up with our friend who lives there. All week we were looking forward to it and also planned another fun activity for the kid to make it less boring and worth the drive for her as well.
Weekend temperatures
Then I discovered the predicted temperatures (39, 40 degrees Celsius) and thought oh well, it's ok.. until my boyfriend reminded me of the fact that we have a black car and this is all highway without any shelter. Not the best place to strand with car trouble if you're 1,5 hours on that highway.
Hmm, never thought about that, I mean our car has been trustworthy (knock on wood) so far but you never know what could happen or the AC breaking down. I don't want to sit in that thing without the AC on during these summer months.
So all plans changed, we will go next month, it is what it is.
Typical Saturday
As always, my boyfriend has his weekly management meeting first on Saturday morning and after he finishes, we walk to one of our favourite tapas bars in the area as they have ribs in the weekend. Although this weekend the ribs were AMAZING, I didn't take a picture this time, as it gets a bit boring taking the picture of the same thing several times, lol.
French fries with joppiesaus
What I didn't share before yet is the homemade french fries we always order. You see, at home we don't have a frying pan so the closest thing to french fries I get here is whenever I put a plate of those things in the oven, which is NOT the same. I don't like it and I never will. Therefore we eat some french fries on Saturday at this place and they also have a Dutch sauce called "joppiesaus" which is really nice!
Of course there were cat cuddles too!
Some shopping & Swimming
We went to the mall to get some needed supplies for my boyfriend and I went ahead to check the Primark as they have good sales right now, and some basic stuff they have is great for at home and with these prices I don't care if they don't last forever either.
In the evening we went swimming and our daughter made a friend. Sadly she's just on holiday here so I don't know how long she'll stay but at least she finally got to show off her Spanish speaking skills which had been a while.
Sunday
On Sunday we planned on going for a swim first but we ended up in the pool a bit too late because it was already very hot around noon. We stayed for 1,5 hour and then headed back home to get out of the sun before any burns would take place. It's hard to burn now I think because thanks to all the swimming since June, I have a nice tint.
While swimming, we had the wonderful idea to go to the harbour for some food later. None of us felt like going to the supermarket for food, I will take care of that tomorrow, so this was a good compromise to get some food in and enjoy a really nice spot in the shade. Even with 35 degrees Celsius, we enjoyed it a lot.
And finally, some silver talk
After doubting back and forward, I finally bought some silver again today. Two coins, one of them I spoke about another time, that I had it on my radar and was in doubt if I'd buy it. I will have to wait at least a week before they arrive though, so until then, I will have to wait before I share anything about them. I'm aiming to buy silver every month from now on and I'm already looking at what to buy next month..
Almost over..
Even though our initial plans didn't go through, we still had a good weekend and I'm a bit sad it's over because tomorrow morning normal life begins again. I'm heading to bed in time tonight so it's a good night from me! Hope you enjoyed your weekend as well..
