The topic I want to participate in is the first one related to my biggest health challenge and how it has affected my life.
I must say that I have had several episodes that have affected my health, but when I look back on my life, I believe that my body is stronger than it seems, despite all the illnesses I have had to go through.
Eight surgeries (appendicitis, two intestinal obstructions, hemorrhoids, ulcer, fistula, throat polyps, and one on a pectoral gland), bronchial respiratory diseases, and others that affected a large number of people, such as hemorrhagic dengue.
However, there are two that have marked me and significantly affected my life.
The first was a complicated case of leptospirosis with hepatorenal failure that kept me in the hospital for 11 days, 8 of them in intensive care, with my life in danger.
The second is the disease I have now, which is benign prostatic hyperplasia.
The effects or consequences of these conditions have been varied. In the case of the first, it has affected my kidneys, liver, and other organs of the endocrine system.
In the case of the second, it was the conclusion of a long struggle in my life and the impossibility of having children.
This second condition was the biggest disappointment of my life because it shattered the life plan I had begun to think about when I entered high school, in which my goal was to have two children, a university degree, and a house.
Unfortunately, children could not be part of my life plan, and this has been the greatest defeat I have ever experienced in my life, emotionally, personally, and humanly.
