There have been weeks of rain in Da Nang over the last few weeks, so the weather has been quite boring. Hence, I decided to visit Da Lat for the holiday season to enjoy the sun. It was a nice trip and the weather was good.
It's bright and sunny, but there is a cool breeze blowing in off the ocean. Swimming in the ocean, sunbathing on the shoreline, and riding a bike along the beach is what I did this morning. It's always my favorite route to cycle from the sea to Son Tra. It's perfect for a day like today; I hope the sunny days are coming.
My fav spot- Man Thai Beach. Every time I pass this way, I always stop to admire the view. The view is beautiful as you could see boats out in the water as well as the city view from a far distance ❤️
I noticed that the city is quieter for this coming holiday. I think some people are leaving the city in order to go back home for the upcoming holidays. The sound of silence has an odd way of making people feel at peace with themselves and others when it comes around this time of year.
Oh yeah, Vietnamese New Year, Tet Holiday, is coming and people are back to their hometown with family for the reunion. The Tet celebration always has a curious aspect to it as it marks the end of the lunar year and the beginning of a new one. Most of us will have some preparations for the coming Tet Holiday. It will include getting rid of old stuff that they no longer need or want, buying new clothes, planning meals for the new year, cleaning their homes to make it spick-and-span for visits by friends and family members. In Vietnamese culture, Tet is a time for family and friends to come together and reconnect. We find ways of expressing their love for one another through thoughtful gifts and a festive meal. For me, I prepare little or don't need to buy new clothes, but I do prepare "red pockets" to give my parents and my brothers🙂

Later next week, I will drive back home to see my family and celebrate the Tet holiday. My goal is to spend these days getting to know the city, enjoying the beach and all. I enjoyed spending time outside with my friend today. It's fun that my friend likes to stay indoors and I enjoy going out. We both have different perspectives on what we like most about spending time outside, but it's nice that we can always find common ground in our conversations and get along great! I asked her to go out and cycle with me, then walked along the beach in the late afternoon. She was actually discharged from hospital yesterday after a week and still not feeling well but I'm glad she went along with me, and we had a great day.
It is Sunday, which means it is time to enjoy one last day of relaxation before starting a new week. I hope you enjoyed your Sunday and had a great week.
