Of course, we definitely checked out one specializing in Vietnamese noodles. I felt like the bowls of noodles are bigger with more meats, lol, but still flavorful and delicious ^^
It was suggested to visit Footscray by , but it's been too busy for me to make it. Yesterday, I finally visited the most concentrated Vietnamese communities here in Melb Australia.
Footscray is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 3 km west from the Melbourne CBD which has a high population of Vietnamese immigrants who have made their home in the area since the early 1990s. The suburb has been nicknamed 'Little Saigon' and is the cultural and commercial heart of the Vietnamese community in Australia. There are numerous Vietnamese businesses and restaurants, as well as a large number of Vietnamese-speaking people, here is also home to a number of community organisations that support the Vietnamese community. I was told that Footscray has been an important working-class suburb since the early days of Melbourne's history.
If you're looking for a quick and easy way to get from Melbourne city to Footscray, the train is the way to go. The trip takes just over 10 minutes, and you can explore one of the most vibrant and culturally diverse suburbs in Melbourne.
When I walk around the Footscray, I feel at home. This is probably because there is a large Vietnamese community in Footscray. It was really cool to see a part of my culture represented in such a big way. The only unlucky thing was that the market does not open on Sunday, but I still enjoyed strolling around despite the wind and clouds.
Walking around the Footscray area, I see a mix of old and new buildings. My friend told me that Footscray was once known as a working-class area, and you can still see some of the old, industrial buildings. However, there are also many new buildings and businesses. The area is changing fast, and will be the west's trending suburbs :)
It's interesting to learn about the area from my local friend. Footscray offers a unique mix of experiences, from cafes and restaurants, to vibrant markets and interesting art galleries. Plus, it is a great place to experience the true diversity of Melbourne. If you're in Melbourne, be sure to check out Footscray. :)
Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead :))
