Oh so blissful!! We went exploring not knowing what to expect, but when we found Secret Springs we didn't want to leave. This stunning place was so peaceful and so much fun. We spent hours splashing around in both the top and bottom pools of this gorgeous little gorge. Jumping off waterfalls, climbing the rocks, practising back flips, picnic lunch by the water, fish nibbling our toes, the list of spectaculars goes on. What a perfect way to spend the weekend, and having the place to ourselves was even better.
We had to cross several waterways to get to the springs. The lovely Ivanhoe River crossing was the first one. This crossing is mostly safe to cross but when the river rises this crossing becomes treacherous. Sadly it's claimed several vehicles and lives over the years, but when it's not flooded this crossing is a great experience.
Another creek crossing on the way.
Waterfalls, waterfalls, oh how we love them. Each one is different and we never get bored of chasing them.
Practising back flips, never a dull moment in our family.
Handy rope to help climb up the rocks to the upper pool and waterfall of the gorge.
