Freedom, peace, simplicity - these are some of the reasons why I love country life
Hello everyone
In this weekend engagement(254) I have chosen to write a few words on topic number six, which is a question that I personally have received many times.
Everything you will read below is strictly my point of view applied to my country (Romania).
I know, the choice between a life in the city or a life in the country may depend on each of us, so let's see some differences between the two options, for each of the options we can find reasons for or against.
Living a life in a city has many advantages, first of all we can talk about finding a job and especially the material wellbeing this brings, but there are many other advantages, moving from one part of the city to another can be done easily with many options in this regard, when you get home you have all the comforts from tap water to internet (high speed) or even hot water(yes, you read it right, "hot water", there are enough villages in Romania where this does not exist even today).
We can even talk about the advantages of places where you can spend your free time, for example to read a book in a park, watch a movie in a cinema, attend a concert where you can see your favorite band, visit a museum or an open-air museum.
But city life comes with some disadvantages, one of them would be noise and pollution, now it depends on the size of the city but here in Romania we can also talk about the appearance of people under the influence of illegal substances (drugs) or even thieves, so city life is full of pleasant or less pleasant experiences.
Now let's see what country life is like.
I've lived in the country since I was born, and now I have to admit that in the last 40 years country life has changed for the better.
If 40 years ago we didn't even have tap water (I'm talking strictly about the countryside), we didn't have bathrooms, the streets were dirt, there were only a few means of public transportation connecting the village to the city, which meant that you could only go to the city by train.
I can't even talk about technology, I remember (when I was a child) and now that I had a black and white TV where I could watch only one program and the rest was just communist political propaganda, wait, don't think that this is what I could watch all day, I had a TV program for only a few hours and the rest was break.
In my childhood I didn't have the modern technology that exists today, so I could socialize for many hours every day with children of my age, but today this socialization no longer exists, children (and not only) are all day with their eyes on their phones, tablets or laptops.
And look, years have passed and life in the country has evolved a lot, so today we have all the conditions of those in the city, but we have some advantages.
Life in the country is simple, here we have peace, even if the streets are paved, we don't have the infernal noise of the city, the crowded city parks, here in our country we replace them with the garden at home, the garden of the house can become your oasis of peace, where you can relax outside and not even worry that someone will disturb you.
I'm free to sit in my hammock in the evening and watch the sky and stars without worrying that someone might leave me without my cell phone or wallet.
In the conclusion of today's post and, of course, the answer to topic number six in my case can only be one: I love country life and will never leave this place.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against living in the city, I too enjoy the advantages of the city but could never live here.
For those of you who visit my post and want to participate in this weekend engagement, you can do it here.
