Hello The Weekend Lovers, My post today is to follow the Weekend-Engagement concept. There are several choices of concepts offered by admin and I chose one of the concepts, namely :
Laugh and cry
What has made you laugh or cry unexpectedly (or both). Explain your answers, the situation, why, when and where.
A few weeks ago I had a mixed feeling, between sadness, laughter and disappointment. a feeling that I can not express in words, but until now I can still feel the mixed feelings. One of my best friends called me, but she seemed hesitant to say the purpose of calling me and finally she just said "Wait a minute, I'll Whatsapp you". After a few minutes I waited for my friend's Whatsapp, but how come it hasn't come in, because I was worried, I called her back.
I have a good friend, we started to be friends 23 years ago when we were both studying for a bachelor's degree in education, even though we were in different faculties but because we often took the same public transportation, finally we became close until now after we got married and have a family.
My best friend, we call her name Ani (pseudonym) picks up my phone call, I can still hear her voice doubtful (makes me more worried). "Ani, you said you would whatsapp me, but after I waited, why didn't you whatsapp me?" Ani was silent for a moment, then answered my phone quickly to encourage herself, "Sorry umirais, can you lend me fifteen million rupiah (USD.1071), I really need it today". Hearing Ani's words, I became very confused, because I just used the money to repair my car, my car happened to have to replace some spare parts, then how can I help her, "okay Ani, I'll get back to you in ten minutes", I replied.
After hanging up my best friend, I cried very sadly (I can't express in words how sad I was at that time). I'm sad, why when my best friend needs help, I can't help her, I know that my best friend rarely asks for help from other people, because she is a "prestigious" person. If she asks someone for help, it means she really needs the money, she ignores her pride in borrowing from me because "she trusts me". When a friend borrows money from us, it means that she believes that we are the right people to help her and we will not tell her disgrace to others, because me and my friend, we have the principle that if we borrow some money from other people, then actually we have opened our own disgrace
I want to call my best friend and say that I don't have any money because yesterday I fixed the car, but I firmly believe that my friend will feel "sad" if I say that and I will feel "disappointed with myself" for not being able to help my best friend who need help.
After a while, I finally decided to call my best friend, "Hello Ani, give me your account number, I will transfer the money, but this afternoon, because I don't have time this morning (I reasoned that I don't have time to transfer, even though I will trying to get a loan from another friend)".
I contacted several other friends to ask for help and I was very happy because my friends wanted to lend me money (I was touched because my friends still believed in me so they wanted to lend me money), Finally the money I promised was collected and I immediately transferred the money to Ani.
I had mixed feelings at that time, I was happy because I could help my best friend but to be honest I also felt very sad, because I had to borrow money from my other friends, but based on this incident I was able to find out who was a " best friend" and who was "just a friend". ** BEST FRIENDS ARE FRIENDS THAT ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN WE ARE HAPPY AND SAD, TOGETHER BUILDING A BETTER LIFE.**
I hope that my best friend doesn't read this article, because I'm worried that it will scratch her prideðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Thank you for taking the time to read my writing.
Best Regards
