They were the perfect company for this weekend outing.
The name of the park Zoo is "LA GUARICHA", which means indigenous, young and single woman. It was inaugurated in 1979 in the city of Maturin, Monagas State in Venezuela.
The park zoo , has changed over the years, being a public place, managed by the local government, many have been the administrators responsible for it. Some years there have been positive changes that have allowed the existing fauna in the place to be maintained, as well as the care of the existing flora in the extensive area (7ha) of the zoo.
Several years ago, the main attraction of this Zoo was Casimiro, a kind and tender lion, who died almost three decades ago, due to the decision of the zookeepers of that time, his remains were buried in a special place, which years later was made a monument where all visitors are obliged to take a picture to take a souvenir of their visit to the place. Here is a picture we took during a family visit, my sons, a cousin and her daughters.
On our weekend tour, I noticed that many things have changed inside the park, but the most noticeable for me was the lack of water in the animals' water troughs, seeing them all sad and discouraged by the high temperatures; in previous times the green areas and resting areas were in favorable conditions for the animals in the park.
As my children are teenagers, they obviously could not enjoy the facilities of the place as they did when they were little, but we did walk around and enjoy the birds and cats that live in the park. We took more videos than pictures, but I enjoyed their company.
I did not leave the place without going to the administrative office and politely expressed my dissatisfaction with the carelessness of having the animals without water in their respective cages or spaces. I hope that on our next trip everything has improved and I can share with you all more pictures of our trip. I hope you will come back to visit my post. I want to clarify that the images are of my authorship, except the one, whose source is clearly at the bottom of the image.
