Yesterday I took my German friend, who is visiting my country, to this long and empty beach. Ma'agan-Michael South Beach is known for its emptiness, but not too completely lacking any kind of people existing and an activity. There are always people here and there - relaxing, walking and jogging, making yoga, exercising, just sleeping, sitting with a beer, fishing, just starring on other people, meditating, playing strange musical instruments, smoking weed, taking selfies, playing matkot game (Padel ball game), running with dogs. I am sure that there are many other kinds of activity we can do at this empty and flat like my palm sunny beach.
But this weekend it was empty of any kind of activity, without any understandable reason. Well, only if you don't talk about the last night when in the nearest to this beach Arab town, one young man was shot by police because he was treated by a group of people in street, close to his living place and wanting revenge this guy just took a weapon from his apartment and started shooting into pursuers. Police arrived shortly after the shooting started, and just shot him to death. It's the story exactly as i got it from the mouth of the closest restaurant owner when we stopped for a tasty dinner when the darkness fell on the sands.
I can't say how objective was his story, but it explained very well why the beach was empty. For many people coming here, the only way to enter the beach was to cross exactly this town.
It was windy but already not hot, so we were in no hurry. We drank beer on the go, and spoke about political situations, photography, food, and girls :-)) how not to talk about them.
