Hello, to all Hivers.. 🥰
I hope your weekend was truly great!!
My weekend was a bit of a mixed bag,, a little tiring and a tad disappointing,, but the disappointment had nothing to do with work and everything to do with the weather... 🌧️
We got hit by a second typhoon last weekend..
It meant stocking up on food and supplies to prepare,, which is always a bit stressful..
The aftermath was pretty rough,, but here's the good news: we were very lucky and there were no casualties in our province..
That's what truly matters 🙏
Once the main storm passed, it was time for the big clean-up in our community and specifically, my own yard..
The heavy rain and strong winds had scattered debris everywhere!!
Branches had fallen and leaves were all over the yard..
You can see the mess I was up against..
It looked like a forest had exploded!! 😂
So, I headed out for a little shopping trip..
I needed to pick up some cleaning supplies and new pots to replace the ones that were damaged (the wind shows no mercy to plastic).. 😆
I even grabbed a cool, bright red rake,, definitely needed for sweeping up all those leaves.. 🍃
I bought the first one,, it looked and felt sturdy than the second one.. 👍
I got home, ready to tackle the mess,, but the universe had other plans..
I looked up,, and the sky started getting dark again..
Sure enough, the rain started to fall.. 🌧️
It was so disappointing to have all the gear but I couldn't even start cleaning..
I was completely stalled!!
What can you do, right?!
Mother Nature always wins... 😁
So, I had to postpone the work..
I took on the lawn and garden clean-up first thing on Monday morning instead..
It was still muddy and wet, but it's done now!!
Slowly but surely,, the garden is starting to look good again.. 😊
It wasn't the relaxing weekend I hoped for,, but at least we are safe and sound!!
I'm grateful for that.. 😌
