Tokyo Oktoberfest in July

Summer Sunday.

It's so hot today. After watching Thor: Love and Thunder movie in Toho Cinemas Hibiya, we were looking for a restaurant to have early dinner and celebrate my friend's birthday. (By the way, the movie was so great and funny!)

We really didn't have any plans and couldn't decide where to go but my friend suggested we go to Hibiya Park as there's an Oktoberfest there.

What's in Oktoberfest? Of course, BEER.

You'll get this cup after paying an entrance fee of 500 yen or around 3.67 USD. It's a nicely designed cup and seems like of high quality. You'll then use this cup whenever you buy beer.

If you opt for glass, that's an additional payment.

Oktoberfest came early in Japan. It's still July but there's already this kind of festival. I thought it's supposed to be in October..? 😅

I barely remembered but I think I went to one of the Oktoberfest in the Philippines when I was still younger, and it was so lively! There's a concert going on, too loud, drinks are overflowing, too many young people partying.

But here in Japan, it's well.. It surprised me a lot. It's a complete opposite of what I have experienced before.

I must say, it's very organized, so calm, peaceful. For once I thought maybe mature people are here, just having their afternoon tea beer with their friends.

I was wondering why there were flags in the venue. I then realized in this Oktoberfest, it's a celebration of German beers! There are so many kinds of beers which amazed me. Every store has their own kind of beer (well that's what I understood).

I went with the fruity beers because I love fruits and I want a sweeter beer. Actually, I think my friends and I didn't have the same kind of beers so we were sipping from each other's beer to have a taste.

I ordered Mango Beer for my first and Pineapple Beer for my second. Wanted to drink more but hey, it's Sunday, need to get up early with no hangover to go to office the next day. 😅 Also, the beers are so expensive. So 2 beers were my limit today.

I strongly believe I ordered the tasty beers. I like their sweet taste! It's just perfect. 💯

Of course, we just didn't drink. We also had food. This was supposedly our dinner, remember? 😆

The event is located in Hibiya Park, as I have mentioned earlier. This park is just across the road from where we watched the movie. Hibiya Park is also just a walking distance from Ginza and the luxurious hotels like Imperial Hotel Tokyo and The Peninsula Tokyo.

Maybe I'll talk more about Hibiya Park in a separate post, maybe on another season.

It's very near the subway, Hibiya station. A few minutes walk, you'll reach JR Line Yurakucho station and subway Ginza station.

We enjoyed spending time in this great event. We didn't eat a lot but we were full from talking and catching up. I guess beer is really best served with friends.
