This weekend turned out to be anything but ordinary. Instead of my usual quiet days, I found myself surprisingly busy. Let me take you through what happened!
Saturday Adventure: A Trip to the Dentist š¦·š„¹
Saturday was the day I finally visited my dentist in our bayan. My appointment was actually supposed to be last Thursday, but I had to do laundry, so I had to postpone it. For the past couple of weeks, Iād been dealing with a toothache caused by a filling, and it was time to get it checked.
To make the trip less dull, I invited my younger cousin to come along. Coincidentally, it also fell on my great-grandpaās death anniversary. (Sorry, GrandpaāI couldnāt attend right away, but I promise Iāll make it up. Saving my tooth had to come first! š„²)
Around 8 AM, we walked from our house to the front of our compound to wait for a tricycle to take us to the bayan. Normally, we would walk to the next barangay to catch one, but the road we usually take was temporarily closed due to construction.
Since it seemed like no tricycles were coming, I decided to call Uncle "Pepe" (my auntās uncle) who also happens to be a tricycle driver, to pick us up.
Good thing I had his contact numberāmy grandma used to call him too whenever they needed a tricycle to get to the bus terminal. Thanks to that, we didnāt have to wait any longer under the hot sun. Besides, we really needed to get to the dental clinic early so we could finish early as well.
We arrived in the Bayan around 9:15 AM. I was nervous because what if the clinic of my dentist is closed again? huhu
But it turns out that my dentist is available during that day, and when we go inside their clinic, there are a few patients waiting already. Hays, I have no choice but to wait patiently for my turn.
Around 10 AM, my younger cousin started feeling hungry since she didnāt eat much during breakfast. She also complained that it was boring to just sit and wait inside the clinic because there were still other patients ahead of us.
So, we decided to step outside for a while and buy some street food. She was the only one who bought and ate, thoughāI couldnāt eat anything before my dental checkup.
When we go back inside, there's only one left before my turn. So we just sit first. I looked at their TV and watched Hajime no Ippo (also known as Knockout) while waiting.
After my dental checkup, we headed to Tiongsan Mall to eat and also buy some noodles and pasta packs for me, since I canāt eat crunchy foods this week. I actually have another appointment at one of the dental clinics in Agoo, La Union, because my dentist referred me there for further treatment. While we were at the mall, we also picked up a few things my older sister asked forādiapers, Cerelac, and body wash for our nephew. And after that, we headed home so we could catch up with our great-grandpaās death anniversary celebration.
Sunday Church Plan with My Younger Cousins š
On Saturday evening around 5 PM, my younger cousins suddenly came into my room and disturbed my peace. My cousin who studies Criminology at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City, had come home for our great-grandpaās death anniversary. Sheās actually one of my closest cousins, so we spent some time talking and bonding before planning to go to church the next day.
We planned to wake up at 4 AM to catch the first mass at the nearby church, but instead, we all woke up at 5 AM. HAHAHAHA š
We almost didnāt make it. To save on fare, we chose the nearby church instead of going to the bayan. By 6 AM, we finally started walking and ended up attending the second mass instead.
Can't you see the vibes in our faces? The three of us always bring out the funniest side in each other whenever weāre together. š
While walking, we couldnāt stop laughing because we were teasing each other along the wayāespecially our younger cousin. We joked, āThere she goes, acting all pretty again!ā HAHAHA š and since it was still early, we didnāt mind walking slowly, laughing, and even taking a few pictures. Then, out of nowhere, a tricycle stopped beside us. Inside was a kind grandma who asked if we were headed to church. When we said yes, she immediately offered us a free ride since she was going there tooāand of course, who were we to say no?
Thanks to that kind grandma, we made it to church earlier than expected and were even able to attend the first massāluckily,
it wasnāt over yet! When we went inside, the priest was still giving his homily.
After we attended church, we decided to go home. But before that, we bought pizza beside the church to eat at home as our merienda before my younger cousin traveled to go back to Baguio.
And thatās how my weekend wentāfun, busy, and full of little adventures. I just felt sad that my cousin had to go back to Baguio, and I missed saying goodbye. Still, I hope her short stay was fun and not boring.
