Hello, lovely Hivers, happy weekend to all. I hope we are all doing great today.🌸
For today's blog lets talk about nicknames.
This is the question that I have chosen on [WE112] Weekend-Engagement concept by .
Nickname given or received
Do you have a nickname or pet name given to you by someone else? What is it and why were you given it? Or, have you given someone else a nickname that stuck What is it and how did they earn it?
I know some of you have different nicknames same as me and those nicknames were used in different eras or times in my life. It's not my intention to be called by different nicknames, but as time passes by, it naturally happens.
When I was a kid, my nickname was Pen or Penpen. So the people who called me by that nickname were my family , relatives , childhood friends, elementary classmates, and a few of my high school and college friends. But did you know what's more interesting about that nickname? Those people who called me that name were or are part of my life since I was a kid or a person that is very close to me. For me, that nickname is my most favorite among my nicknames because it's my first nickname. So, for example, if you're with me and you will hear someone call me Pen. I assumed that they were my acquaintances a very long time ago.
My college society
I remember when I was in Ayala walking down the sidewalk and someone called me Pen. I knew at that time that the person who called me was my province friend until I saw him waving his hands and found out that he was working in Ayala too. Why did I assume that already? It is because I am not known as Pen in my working place.
When I was in high school and college, I had three nicknames. It's Pen , Jen , and my last name. My close friends and classmates call me Pen , my other casual classmates call me Jen, and the others call me by my last name, and to be honest, I really hate it. I have a beautiful name, but they preferred to call me by my last name because it's shorter than my first.
Team Level up who calls me Jen
I look for jobs in Manila, and from there I am known by the nickname Jen because my name is three syllables , they preferred to call me Jen. That's the first syllable of my name. For me, Jen's nickname is very casual.
Then there's an incident that happened when my crush misheard my nickname. So instead of Jen , he called me Yen. Then that's the start of the existence of Yen. I told him to just call me by that nickname because I found it cute and from that moment.
So there's an incident that happened again when I was walking on the side of TUP Taguig and someone called me by my nickname Yen. Since I was not in the office, I got curious who called me Yen and thought of my crush, and I was right. He told his classmate to call me. When I texted him and asked if he was the one who called me on the side of TUP, he confirmed it.
My officemates on my former job. they calls me Yen and Mommy Yen
I am also known as Yen at my last job because I started using it when I was editing some of my folders on the computer that belongs to me. When I got pregnant, they called me Mommy Yen until now.
When I became a stay-at-home mom and learned to earn money online, I also used it as my virtual name, like now . My username is Yen. I used this username on different platforms.
I am inviting my friends ,
