Hello, fellow Hivers! How are you all? I wish you are all happy and safe.
If I were to receive a mail this weekend, I would wish it to be my dream phone.
This is my entry to @galenkp's weekend engagement contest
Weekend package
You're receiving a single package in the mail this weekend and in it is whatever you would like. Tell us in at least 400 words, what you would like to be in that package and why. What do you do with it and how it may impact upon your life? You can choose something that is alive or an inanimate object.
I grew up in a poor family and most of the things that I had were hand-me-downs from sisters and cousins. My first phone is a Nokia3310 and is junk from my cousin which was given to my sister then gave it to me after acquiring a new phone.
The brand is not very important to me as long as the product will work for the purpose. I do have ideal specs for the phone that I wanted: a good battery life, enough storage capacity, enough RAM to run the apps smoothly, and a good camera to pursue my love for photography.
I had been keeping an out eye for the Tecno spark7T phone for a while now as additional inspiration for blogging.
It's not that I just wanted a new phone but I do need a new phone, a personal phone which I can call my own because I what I had been using now is a phone owned by the company where I work for.
This phone is perfect for what I need because it almost got all the specs that I wanted except for the storage, but it can be aided with an external memory card and everything will be solved.
In addition, the price is significantly lower compared to Samsung and Huawei brands that are also in the market.
This online shop that I had been following since I found it is highly rated and is selling fast. They offer lots of discounts too! These past months, I always visit their site when they are on sale ( e.g 10.10 sale and 1.15 payday sale) and it was what keeping inspired to do hustles.
In here, I tried to check the item out and found out that aside from the discounts from the original price, Shopee offers discount vouchers and I love it. On the 10.10 sale, the discount offered was up to 1K pesos.
Much cheaper than buying in the physical stores.
Since last year when I knew about Hive, I used this phone and I was worried that one day the company will take this phone from me and I will lose everything. Though they didn't know about Hive yet and how the keys work. Of course, I kept my keys where I could access them even without this phone but having my own phone will give me more security and assurance.
this feeling got triggered when I and my husband almost had an accident on the road. I don't have anything to leave my kids with so I think it's best if they would be a successor to my hive account and probably manage it one day or make a new account of their own
I had been saving for it
There were times when I was thinking about withdrawing all my earnings here and buying the things that I wanted but the good thing is that I realize that powering up is better than withdrawing. This way, I can have savings and secure my kid's future. Yeah, I see hive as insurance and all.
I have been in read.cash too and accumulated 3K+ pesos from July to August but the kids got sick and I had to withdraw the accumulated BCH that I had and converted them into cash despite the low value so that I won't have to lend money.
Now I am back to zero and am doing all that I can to earn money from my side hustles.
An even bigger dream but...
I originally dreamed of buying a laptop. Laptops had bigger screens and storage and is much easy to use in blogging but I was thinking it would take me a very long time to accumulate that amount. As long s I can, I wanted to be realistic so I won't get hurt when I expect too much.
Here are the specs
I mean I can buy it if I would want to but my husband decided to invest in land and luckily some people offered their land on an installment basis of payments and that is what our priority is now.
Still, I am dreaming to have my own computer where I could do everything that I needed to without worrying.
After all, I see phones and computers as investments now.
One day, I'm going to tap that "place order" button somehow. Having a good gadget will probably make the blogging experience better, right? Would you agree?
The first photo is mine and the rest are screenshots from my phone on the online shop that I used to window-shop by. XD
