Wow, I got a lot of great reactions on the start of the community. Thank you for that. It feels good seeing that there are a lot a bass loving Hivers outthere. Including a lot of bass players.
Just to let you know I am very busy with exploring ideas for this community, it has to be a interactive community with a lot of input from you folks !! Bit of course with a lot of content from my side to keep you informed, interested and eager to visit the community :) .
I also am thinking of putting a Discord channel up so the communitation between 'us bassers' can happen on and offline on the plaftform and get to know eachother some better.
So a little introduction of myself
I am Peter, from the Netherlands. I am 47 years old, married and proud father of two sons. I started playing bass when I was about 18 or 20 I guess, not an early bird :).
I found the fascinating thing about a bass that you always pick the bass out and it often goes the opposite of the rest of the melody. Together with drums, the bass forms the soul of a band and the music.
I've played in different bands with different genres. From party music to heavy metal and everything in between. To be honest, I don't really care what I play, I just love making music.
With a number of bands I played in I performed almost every weekend and with a number of others we did not leave the rehearsal space :) So very varied, but all from the music heart.
In recent years, playing has become a little less, busy with work, the children, sports. But since a year and a half I have been playing together with my brother in a band called "Loser bob", this is a typical band that hardly leaves the rehearsal room, but we do have a lot of fun.
My taste in music is broad, real broad. I listen to everything from Abba to evergreens, trash metal. It all depends on my mood. But usually I do listen to bass oriented or guitar oriented music. Blues, funk, funk rock ...
I would love it if you also post some kind of introduction post so that we know who we are and what moves us in music. I would love that a lot.
First on Steemit and now on Hive I write a lot about music. I want to continue that here, together with you, I've already made a lot of music friends, ,
,
and a lot more ... all great people with great (own) music taste.
Have a great night and see you at The Bassplace !!
Peter
