Cyberbuzz Radio is a love affair with neon drenched disruptive tech and great synthwave music
I livestream every week with new music and artists to share, do Q&A about the Hive blockchain and beyond, with great discussions and dance parties around some of the changing aspects of our world, the crypto space, blockchain, and community. Have fun, learn a little, chat a lot, ponder whether or not we're all just replicants... what are you waiting for? Come join me in the neon~
We're just normal friends with abnormal everything else 🖤

In this episode...
There are a few topics that come up a lot on CBR, and two of them include the extended metaverse and crypto adoption. After the recent news of Amazon launching the pilot program for Amazon One, it seems like now is the perfect time to think a little bit more about the ups and downs and goods and bads of tying information to our bio-metrics. In the case of AOne, you'll be able to scan your palm at locations you whitelist as a way to pay, to show ID, present qualifications, or other things that we're rapidly becoming used to doing with our phones. Why rely on the extra piece of technology when we can just BE our own verification? This isn't a new trend, either. Face recognition and fingerprint scans are commonly accepted as ways to unlock personal tech. Is it that surprising to take it further yet? I mean, not like it's a loaded topic or anything.
Awkward silence and a good place for a musical interlude-
Without rehashing the entire day's discussion word for word (since you're obviously chomping at the bit to listen to the replay), here's some of the angles today's show approaches this brave new world from:
- bio-metrics as incredibly unique opportunities to control the ways that you verify and give consent
- how the metaverse and digital assets are an expansion of self (not just financially) into a limitless, connected social and value exchange network
- that self custody, in bitcoin and beyond, can take a long journey with a lot of learning and potential stumbling blocks... including key safety
- how bio-metrics, at face value, are an intrinsically perfect way to verify yourself
- the actual deployment of the interpretation layers required to make verification possible; what kinds of database needs to exist to compare against? In a space that is pushing open source, transparent, and immutable handling of data combined with unparalleled opsec and personal privacy, how do you navigate the terrifying pitfalls of holding unique physiological information that can be tied to what is essentially identity and solvency?
- appropriate ways of choosing randomized and non-reproducable biometric keypoints, and who is the arbiter of what those are. Is it freckles? Testicles? Trucknuts as mission impossible-esque forged access passes? NOT YOUR BOOBS NOT YOUR CRYPTO? (Yeah, we actually addressed these during the course of the show, but I'm also including here to see who's paying attention 😂)
- how an unprecedented (and growing) number of things in our life collect biometric data, and that that data represents a total unknown even when compared against things like GDPR (here's an article with a quick take on this.)
Also,
coined what is arguably the best rebrand of KYC ever (and I feel compelled to make shirts. How could I not?) Forget doxxing crypto users... KYC is Dead, Long Live KYC.
In between talking a bit about how VR is pushing forward with a new wave of data protection issues (think of the current and very near future biometric integrations) and a Lulu doggo update, there were a few more tracks, including one of my favourite synthwave artists, Das Mortal:
As per usual, while discussing the idea of "brute force" attacks on biometric crypto keys, the chat turns to organ donation, back alley eyeball scooping, complex mission impossible plots, Paris is Burning, and what is probably one of the more hilariously bad tangents- who is going to get my boobs when I die. (It's .) Legacy planning in crypto is very important, mmmkay?
And finally, I really want to show some love for the people who are part of the creative community here who have helped NFTShowroom blossom... by giving people things!
If you hadn't seen, hit the awesome milestone of 10,000 NFTs sold- with enough HIVE earned by artists to fall somewhere in between a quarter and a half million dollars depending on the day and the colour of your candles. We've helped launch successful multichain artist careers, and welcomed users looking for a better experience, socially and financially, to a blockchain that's fast and feeless and expands their interactions so much further beyond buying and selling art than they initially ever imagined.

I mean, if it sounds like I'm proud... I am.
One thing that I would like to do, and I'll be hammering out the details of, is inviting new collectors to showroom. While I am on the NFTSR team, this is just a little giveaway by me over and above the really exciting official one- so I'll be looking for collectors on other chains or people already on Hive who haven't had the chance to explore entering the HIVE art ecosystem. I'm going to be giving away at least ten wallets, pre-loaded with funds for purchasing art, and also loaded with a piece of art that I've made. Many of you know that when I started here, it was an artist and photographer, and I've talked at length about that journey. Though I haven't quite gotten back to the time to focus largely on that, I can't think of a better way to show my love and undying gratitude by putting a little piece of my heart into the pot. In this case, Crim's Heart, Your Crypto.
And lest you've thought I've gone far too soft, we ended the show with Carpenter Brut's Roller Mobster, because that shit is some of the original darksynth, and it goes hard~
I hope you have as much fun attending, participating in, or rewatching these Cyberbuzz Radio shows as I do creating them for you. 🖤
If you have questions, comments, or a topic or project you want me to feature on the show, shoot me a message! The idea of a combination livestream/podcast/live radio show is a bit confusing, but I'm so proud of what we're creating. Catch you out there in the flickering neon sometime?
