The incidents and things I have had to go through in life are responsible for the person I have become today. They said humans can redefine themselves at any time and anywhere they want, it only boils down to when and if they want to do so.
Growing up, I have been extroverted, the cheerful, fun, and conversational young fella, and for this, people have engaged better with me, loved me for it, and as everything in life, also criticized me for it. Now it is a different ball game for me. I spend more time enjoying my personal space, watching movies or TV shows, and even more recently working on some Hive projects, and these have become my new norm. I have to say that a couple of years back in school, it was hard to imagine I could become an individual with this kind of routine.
The most intriguing part about this is how my friend and roommate in school back then who was more of the introverted one is the person who advises me to go out more often, instead of staying at home like a home buddy.
Now this makes me want to beg to differ by asking the question to you the reader at the moment:
Who is the best version of you?
Is it the person you once were, the person you are trying to become, or the person you are currently?
Change is the only constant thing in this world and give or take the world around us is changing faster than we think. A couple of years back, there were no mobile phones, let alone iPhones and Android phones, only telephones were available. Now we have just got the latest iPhone 17 and Air. Not too far, there was not so much content on the internet from content creators and skit makers, but now it is a widespread vibe growing fast like a pandemic with more and more content from people every day in different forms, written or video, the more the merrier.
Do not worry about the change rather be focused on the growth it comes with. Who you are now could say a lot about your character and the choices you make. Is it the version you are proud of or is there a better one coming soon?
The version of a person you are trying to become does not end there. It goes to ask who decides that for us as well.
Who decides the best version of you?
Our spouse, friends, siblings, relatives, or even our parents. Who has the role in your life in telling you this is who you should be or the version of you that is the best for everyone to see?
Personally, I find this question to be outrightly relative, depending on the individual. In other words, there is no right or wrong answer, rather a reflection of what works for you. For me, it is the person in question. My interpretation of a popular Roosevelt quote I try to live by is, It is not the person who criticizes the man in the arena or the people that do so that deserve the accolades, rather it is the person in the arena doing the work despite the numerous failures they encounter but keeps on going again and again.
So it's all about you in my perception and dictionary. You are the person with the version, so what works best for you. This should be your focus. How you choose it or get there is the process you have to discover by yourself. You have to work the path on your own. To others, it may differ and that is alright.
