When you love someone you protect them at all cost
What are you scared of?, It's just a cold night
She asked, looking up at me as she held my hand. I could feel her warmth sending tingling sensations running through my veins.
It was indeed a could night, the wind didn't resist the urge to send slaps across my face. My lips were as dry as the sahara desert and my nostrils were filled with fairy dust. I couldn't smell anything except her lily perfume whose taste lingered on my lips.
Myself Lara, I don't know but I feel rather uneasy, like something is calling out to me. You shouldn't be here with me.
I could feel her little hand tighten around mine, then she stopped to face me squarely, her small frame blocking out everything else. I looked searchingly into her eyes, who could resist this priceless jewel that was staring back at me.
A sheepish smile drew across her face revealing perfectly placed dimples. She was beautiful, if I hadn't seen my mother's photos i would have said that she was the most beautiful girl in the world.
But this night she indeed was and the way the full moon shone it's light directly on her like a theater's spotlight showed agreement. Warm hands found my face and I held on to them.
You're special Michael, I know it with all my heart, there's no way you can hurt me.
I saw certainly in her eyes, same one I saw when I was about to make that last basket during the NCAA college basketball final. It was unmistakable and it always gave me the courage to go the extra mile.
I kissed her...by the light of the moon
This kiss felt different, it was slow and more passionate than the first time, it felt natural, water and air. This time her lips tasted like strawberries and it's wetness immediately brought my dry lips back to life.
She kissed me too...her lower lip found my upper lip and her tongue reached out to me for help and my lips rescued the damsel in distress. I could feel the air in my lungs leave me, I was breathing her instead, I couldn't feel more alive.
Lara, I....love yo...........ahhhhh!!!!
The bone around my back twisted violently. Lara moved some steps away in shock, hands covering her mouth, her eyes showed terror. It was horrific, and yet so familiar.
The socket that joined my leg with my thighs threatened to pull off. I fell on my knees covering my face, as every bone in my body started to expand in very violent and unforgiving horror.
I could hear her screams now, they sounded like my favorite classical song, loud and soothing. I roared in pain and the love I just felt turned into rage as my legs and whole body started to change form.
My ears started to expand and I could feel long fangs start to form in places where my teeth stood. The pores around my skin started to bring forth hairs, all over my body.
Mich-ha-el??
Was all the words she could mutter. This time she was shivering and tried to come close to me to atleast feel me and let me know that it was going to be ok, but then sharp talons gave way almost immediately. I heard loud screams again.
Amidst all this agony, I caught a glimpse of her standing directly under the moon and for a second, time slowed.
When you love someone you protect them at all cost
Nana's last words echoed in my head
At that moment, flashes of all the amazing moments I and Lara had shared together ran through my mind, and a hot tear escaped it's prison and raced down my cheek.
RUN! LARA, RUNNNN!!!!!!
