It’s 5 days to Christmas, the long-awaited day everyone has been anticipating.
You better watch out,
You better not cry,
You better not pout,
I'm telling you why,
Santa Claus is coming to town
A Short Story of How I Spent My Last Christmas Holiday
My last Christmas celebration wasn't quite enjoyable. I was in my university, so I couldn't travel back home to celebrate with my family. Though it was my choice to stay back because my final exam was in the second week of January, I really needed to study like never before to prepare myself for what lay ahead.
On 24th December, the university premises were deserted; not a single soul was found within. I felt really bored and lonely. At that point, I started wishing I had traveled, but if I had, would I have had time to study at home, or would I have been carried away by the magic of the season?
I made sure I kept in contact with my family through phone calls while reading for my exams. On 25th December, I went to church with my friends who stayed back with me. The service was filled with the joyful sounds of Christmas. 🎄
After church dismissal, on my way back to my hostel, I stopped by a nearby market and bought tomatoes 🍅 and fish to prepare stew 🍲. I made sure the stew was special. I boiled rice and enjoyed it with the stew.
I decided to take a break from my studies and watch some Christmas movies. I chose one of my childhood favorites, Home Alone. I really felt lonely and missed my family and the excitement at home.
