Everyone's greetings are heartfelt.
It's another great week and we are hoping for success this week. This week is blessed with a wonderful topic which we will be discussing live on hive. Though it's not easy, I just believe it will be possible for everyone to make a post in regards to this great topic, "brilliant".
Chike is a poor boy from a family of four, well trained and brought up, but his parents were poor to the extent they found it difficult to pay Chike's school fees. Chike's parents were farmers; that was what they did for a living. Before they could eat, they had to go for jobs of clearing and some other farm work, but they have always been very serious about the education of their two children, Chike and Ada. Making it a priority for the family, however, life had not been easier for them. Chike was a very brilliant boy during his primary level of education, but his parents didn't have the money to train him to a secondary level, but he had to take that as a challenge kept before him. Looking at his family background keeps reminding him where he came from and how they suffered to survive. That alone makes Chike sit up and let go of the material things.
Chike studied more. It got to an extent that chike saw that there was no improvement in him at the school he attended. He decided to tell his mother to change him from the school. His mother disagreed with him and recounted an incident that happened to him some years back when chike was ill and couldn't go to school as a result of an operation being done on him that made him miss his examination.
Chike always had the potential, but he needed a school that had supportive teachers that could encourage him to the standard he wanted. Since his parents were not able to sponsor him at one of the best schools out there, Chike had no other option than to continue his education at a school his parents could afford for him. This was how Chike became so serious that he did read day and night till it got to the time for his common entrance.
Chike's parents had to look for money to register Chike for the up coming examination. When it was time for the exam, Chike wrote the exam and he won a scholarship to study in Canada. Having scored 191 over 200 in his common entrance, he was the highest scorer in his school and in Nigeria.
Scholarships like this are good for a person like Chike due to his family background, knowing the type of family he came from. It enables academically brilliant children from less privileged backgrounds to be able to attend a strong secondary school in Nigeria. That was how Chike sponsored a boy with a poor background who is now studying in Canada.
Indeed, it is not all about putting your children at the best school. What is in that child's head master a lot? Chike and his parents never expected that. Teachers were like, "This boy is too brilliant."
That was how Chike brilliant lifted both him and his family. No one ever expected that a boy like Chike would do his best just as he had done already regarding his family background, but God did it for him.
This story makes me re Back then, in my primary days in school, there was this guy that was so dull he didn't know anything. All he did was to play all the time, no rest. But within an interval of two terms, he picked up and started struggling to read. What I am trying to let you know is that I am a brilliant student. You can talk about everything in life. It is self-determination.
With great seriousness, you can be brilliant also. Those that are brilliant don't have two heads in seriousness. You can do the same if only you know what you are doing. They are schools that we attend that bring us down a lot. Imagine someone that calls himself a science student and does not even know if they do have a lab in school as a science student due to the poor level of education around them. Going to school is a different thing from acquiring what took you to school.
Conclusion
Chike had not expected to win the scholarship, but his seriousness had paved the way for him. Due to the way he became brilliant, he was loved by all his teachers and others around him. Determination had made him that brilliant. Without determination, Chike would not have won the scholarship.
