The night before last night was Shab-e-Barat, a night in which all Muslims collectively worship and ask for forgiveness from God for all their wrongdoings.
My mom said we would fast on the next morning of Shab-e-Barat and I was excited about it as I like to be part of religious activities. I spent my half night on the rooftop of my home in prayers and I was sitting on the floor reading the Quran. The next morning when I woke up I had a little flu but I wouldn't let my mom know this and had my food.
When I reached university I was already late I ran towards my class and started listening to my lecture along with my friends but because of flu and headache I was feeling so down, after class I went to wash my face. When I came back to class my friends were eating chocolate they gave the packet to me to have some, and I ate it. I ate it without even realizing that I had fast.
Did I really eat that? When I realized what I had just done I was shocked... I told my friend I had a fast today and I had eaten a chocolate. They laughed so hard at my absent-mindedness.
After laughing so hard they started counselling me by saying it's okay eating with absent-mindedness won't break your fast but I felt so bad. When we went to class they told my teacher too about my today's act she laughed and told us about her story too when she accidentally ate food in her fast.
I came home and told my mom about this too she laughed and said you are just stupid but don't worry it's a party from Allah so just let it, but my brother roasted me a lot after knowing that I had eaten something in my fast.
It was hilarious for everyone who got to know what I just did accidentally but for me, it wasn't funny at all I don't know why it is so but it was not funny.
