Gabriel has this lovely baby face, it was as though, as he grew older, he looked younger and more handsome. Ladies love his gentle smile, and his sparkling blue eyes. But Gabriel had eyes for only one - Elizabeth. When he kisses her, he feels like his licking strawberries mixed with chocolate. Elizabeth once said "I love how smart you always look Gab. Well combed short hair. Your neatly tucked in shirts - it makes me love you more."
Gabriel woke up to the voice of the love of his life. Elizabeth was singing as she was cleaning his well furnished apartment that morning. The after glow of a romantic night was felt in her sweet voice. Gabriel's habit is always to put on his television, first thing in the morning, and listen to news as he gets ready to leave for work. It was like Sob's law, his worst nightmare has become a reality.
The breaking news, was about the success of a novel technology that will completely wreck his business.
He said to himself, "I've been soft-pedalling. I saw this stone coming, yet it blinds my eyes." The news was going on, but Gabriel just turned off the television. Elizabeth from the other room noticed that the television sound stopped, which was weird and unusual, hence she quickly went to see what was going on. She couldn't recognize Gabriel's baby face - it was red, with a vein like lightning stretching down his forehead.
Elizabeth asked, "What's the problem Gab?" He hesitantly replied, "It's the news. It's related to my business. And it's really bad." Elizabeth walks to Gabriel, and comforts him, "It will be alright. You've always been a fighter. You'll find a better way." Gabriel replied, "I know my love. But with this news, we might need to postpone the wedding. I need to get my finances straight." Elizabeth was speechless, as tears went down her face.
Gabriel continued, "I'll need to figure this out on my own. You will have to go back home today. But I promise to fix this quickly." Elizabeth couldn't utter a word, in her head she was wondering, "Just a few minutes ago, I was so happy. But right now, I'm so sad." She cried. She knows that Gabriel doesn't talk much and when he says something he means it. She was crying as she was parking her things. Then Gabriel held her from behind, "I'll fix this."
She nodded, but still crying. Soon after, they both left Gabriel's apartment. Elizabeth went home, and Gabriel to his workplace. It wasn't surprising to Gabriel, that he made on 2 sales for the entire day. He said to himself, "It's definitely time I left this sinking ship." He withdraws all his savings. He calls his old friend, Eric - who has been doing great in another line of business. Gabriel said, "Buddy, I have good savings. I'll like to join you in your business."
Eric was happy to hear it, "Of course my friend. I'll show you the way."
Two weeks later, Gabriel invited Elizabeth over to his apartment. "I told you my love, that I'll fix this quickly. Well...I have." Elizabeth's eyes glow. She could now see the Gabriel she fell in love with. "I trust you Gab my love. I know you're a fighter. A man with ambition. That's why I love you." Gabriel replies, "And you always believe in me, and do as I say. That's why I love you too." Elizabeth smiles, "I want to kiss your baby face right now Gab!"
Gabriel replies with a gentle smile "It's all yours my love!"
