On the ceiling of the house, in the darkness, which only reflected light from the gaps in the room that illuminated it, a group of mice ranging from small to large were seen mourning their two friends who had died.
One died because he was caught in a mouse trap so that his leg was caught in a sharp object and then injured and bled to death, while the other died because he ate cheese that had been deliberately sprinkled with rat poison by Mr. Yanto.
In the midst of the cries of the mice, from the direction of the darkness appeared an old mouse with a long white beard and using a stick who seemed to know the secrets of the world and humans. The other mice used to call him the Great Elder.
Instantly the group of mice split in two with neat rows making way for the Great Elder. Relaxed but dignified, the Great Elder walked towards the two dead rats lying stiff.
The Great Elder held the bodies of the two rats while saying with his eyes closed, "Before the owner of the house smells the corpses and takes our two brothers and throws them into the fish pond, you should stop crying and take them and bury them properly," said the Great Elder to all the rats present.
"Yes, Your Majesty," said all the rats in unison with a respectful body posture.
The Great Elder's four trusted rats brought something that was usually used to carry sick or dead rats. All the rats dispersed, some helped bury them while others returned to their respective rooms.
The Great Elder was still standing upright. Daydreaming while closing his eyes and imagining the various facial expressions of all the rats that had died from traps or died from rat poison.
His daydreaming was interrupted when he heard Mr. Yanto's conversation with his wife.
"The rats in this house never give up. What other way can we get rid of them?" Said Mr. Yanto to his wife who was still busy with her cellphone
"My suggestion is that we should just move house. Besides, this house is far from the shop. I don't feel at home" replied his wife
"Move?" said Mr. Yanto a little surprised, "Where do we get the money to move. Besides, building a house here is your wish, right? You said you wanted peace and quiet and away from the crowds"
After being silent for a while, Mr. Yanto's wife said, "How about we just buy a cat and a dog. A black cat and dog that have been trained to repel groups of mice?"
"You yourself know that I and our two children are allergic to cats. Unless you make a special house for cats yourself" said Mr. Yanto
"Leave it to me about that. For the house, we just make it from used cardboard and we keep it on the backyard terrace"
Mr. Yanto's conversation with his wife was clearly heard by the Great Elder. "Whose fault is it to build a house on our land." He said in his heart
The story began that the land and location used for Mr. Yanto's house was a special bamboo garden land. Although the atmosphere is quiet and silent because it is far from the crowd, many people do not want to build a house there because the locals consider it a rat's nest.
The next day after Mr. Yanto and his wife returned from their respective jobs, after picking up their two children from the sports center, before returning home they went to the Cat and Dog shop.
After about two hours of Mr. Yanto and his wife searching and negotiating with the shop owner, finally the cat and dog they wanted could be bought. A big black cat with thick fur and sharp eyes, around its neck hung a Z pendant indicating the cat's name was Zeus. Likewise with the appearance of the dog, very scary.
"I'm sure you didn't buy the wrong thing here. This Zeus has been trained. Fast and brave. Especially the dog we named Brutus." said the Shop Owner
On the other hand, the Great Elder called his four trusted mice to discuss Mr. Yanto and his wife's plans.
"How about we just stay here. If necessary, we will fight back. We will take back our land. We will chase them away," said the first mouse
"But the other mice are not old enough to enter the battlefield. They are still small." The second mouse replied
"We don't have a good idea. Because it is true that if we fight back, the other mice are still small. They will definitely be scared," said the third mouse.
"Let's just move" The Great Elder began to speak after a long silence. "There is no other choice. If we fight, our strength is still weak. The other rats' experience is also still minimal. Do you still remember the black cat belonging to one of the children who used to cut bamboo for his office needs. I was overwhelmed fighting the black cat. The rats that were playing and looking for food were almost hunted. If I hadn't sacrificed this tail, I might have died with my body torn apart. Moreover, this was added by a dog" Said the Great Elder while showing his severed tail
"Whatever the Great Elder's advice and decision, we will follow and carry it out." Said the four rats
"To buy time, the gate where Mr. Yanto usually keeps traps and rat poison should be closed tightly and the secret path that we usually use to find food should be opened immediately. The two of you try to announce to all the rats to get ready to move immediately. Any belongings that are not needed should be left behind" The Great Elder ordered
"Excuse me, Your Majesty, if I may ask where are we going to move?" Said the first mouse
"We will move to a river. There are former trees there. I think it is safe for us to use as a place to live." The Great Elder replied
"What if there are lots of snakes?" asked another mouse
"Leave the snake matter to the four of us. We can still fight it and it's quite easy to get rid of it," said the first mouse
After everything was ready and the gate where Mr. Yanto kept the traps and rat poison was closed, the two rats walked in front leading the group of other rats to immediately leave through the secret path. while the great elder and two other rats walked from behind.
with sad faces all the rats walked with their heads down. some still glanced back with teary eyes. some tried to look strong and steadfast.
in the middle of the journey, without realizing it, Mr. Yanto had arrived home and immediately released the black cat named Zeus. without having to be ordered, the black cat ran towards the roof of the house trying to find a gap to hunt the rats.
unfortunately, there was one small rat who fell asleep and was left quite far from the group of rats. after one of the rats reported that there was one rat left behind, without asking much, worried mixed with alert, the great elder ran towards the back with the other two rats.
the great elder ran quickly, when the black cat opened the gate and was about to enter the roof of the house, only his head entered, with his martial arts skills, the great elder kicked the stone gravel with full force towards the cat's head.
Right on target, the stone pebble hit the black cat's forehead and immediately fell. Immediately the great elder immediately carried the mouse that was left behind and followed again. Finally, with great struggle, they were able to arrive at their new residence.
