I enjoy sunsets, sun kisses, starry nights, and the blue sky. Of course, we all love that view; I just wanted to share it with you. Who wouldn't want to take in that breathtaking view? Except for this one person, all of us.
“Elijah, did you forget to take your medicine again?”
Bethany came into my room just to bother me again.
“Don't worry about me; just go home and rest.” I said, a smile on my face. But all she did was smirk and roll her eyes.
“I'm not concerned; I just felt bad because you're so frail!” She burst out laughing. “Did the rain make you sick? You're so frail!”
I stood up and slowly pushed her out of my room, annoyed.
“It's not my fault that I'm nice, and I was the last person to accompany you that night.”
Tsh! I shut the door and never opened it again.
She asked me last night if I could meet her at her favorite restaurant because she and her boyfriend had a fight.
I became concerned and drove her home despite the heavy rain!
This woman is really irritating me. Rain has been her solace since we were ten. I despise rain. But I can't leave her there alone, so what can I do?
“Hey! Are you free? Can you drive me to the restaurant-" she abruptly opened the door as I was changing my t-shirt!
“Are you pervert? You have no idea how to knock!” I nagged and shoved her out of my room.
She's just living in front of our house, so she's welcome to come in at any time.
“Do you think I could steal your body, Attitude?” she shot back, quickly knocking on my door.
She's annoying, but she's also adorable.
"What exactly is that smile?"
She inquired as to when I went out.
“I'm not smiling,” I stated coldly.
I dropped her off at her favorite restaurant while I went to rehearse something at a friend's house.
She called me at 6 p.m. to come pick her up.
“Are you drunk?”
I can smell the liquor she consumed!
This girl is crazy about her boyfriend.
“I'm not a drinker!” She said like a boss, “Stop the car,” so I, as a kind and humble owner of the car, stopped it. “I'm going to feel the rain again,” she said, smiling and closed the door.
“Tsk...” Even though I've been sick, I still want to play in the rain. “Wait for me, lady!”
“Come here, weak man, if you want to be sick again!”
This girl is really irritating me.
“If your boyfriend is the reason you're crazy, break up with him right now.”
“I'm not insane!” I just want to be happy, and you know that only rain can provide that for me.
“Are you all right?” I inquired abruptly, but I know she is not. “You're not feeling well, are you? I'm telling you, stupid woman, break up with your boyfriend right now.”
Instead of responding, she simply smiled and felt the raindrops with her bare hands.
“I know you're still sick, but please leave me alone here.”
It's unbelievable that she's pushing me away, I just sighed. Wow! The climate is changing!
“You're pushing me away, Bethany.”
I approached her. It's not something I'm used to. I still want Bethany, who is always nagging at me. Who always retorted when I said something she didn't like. Bethany, who couldn't care less about me.
“George and I...” she started to say.
“I see you're all together.”
“No, I mean, sure!”
“Everyone is aware that you two are dating.”
“That's why today is our last day together.”
“What?!” What she said stunned me.
“Yeah. Elijah, I'm getting married.”
“Bethany! You're hilarious... You're joking, right? Haha.” I managed to fake a laugh. No, no. He is not going to marry that man. All I can think of is that they're just dating for business!
“Elijah...” she said, smiling. “Are you my friend?” Because I'm hoping you'll get it.
I'm not sure what happened after that day. That was the last time I saw her in the rain. I left first because I didn't know what to say, I didn't want to accept what she said, and she's asking for my help? How could I possibly do that? I don't understand her decision in the first place.
She love George? Already? She said she wouldn't be, but look at them now...
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. Congratulations and happy wedding day,” the priest exclaimed, his face beaming.
When I look around, I see that everyone is cheering along with them. Their family and friends are in tears of joy.
But what about me? I'm just standing here, unable to clap or smile. It felt like a knife was stabbed into my chest, but I couldn't react because it was numb.
And for the last time, I look at her face... I notice how her eyes sparkle and her tears become precious. And the man she dated solely for business became the man she loves.
And for a brief moment, I wished I was the man in front of me.
Tears stream down my cheeks. I managed to give her one last bittersweet smile as she looked at me.
I'm not sure what happened, but I ended up leaving the reception and driving my favorite car. I'm not sure where I'll go; all I want is to be alone this time.
I'm just driving through this strange place, the green grasses swaying in the breeze, the colorful flowers swaying in different directions. Until I noticed a few droplets of water on my window. I park my car slowly alongside the highway.
I recall someone who enjoys this weather. I recall her playing and feeling the raindrops with her bare hands.
Until I started feeling every drop of rain. My tears streamed down my cheeks. My white and black tuxedo was completely soaked. But it's fine as long as the rain is soothing me.
There's only one thing I've recently realized: I'm in love with my best friend. However, it is too late.
It's fine as long as I can sense her presence in this gold of rains.
