Instant
Happiness is only a passing moment
the pupils are brighter than the stars in the sky
the smile is automatic as the cheekbones swell.
A pleasant memory, an evocative landscape
the child's small hands on the chest
aunt's candy on the palate.
The sincere kiss in the anticipated return
the triumphant stories of useless wars
the overflowing joy of soldiers' girlfriends.
The secret lairs of the nature's poets
the blessed fire scrolls
the birth of light in dark times.
The desired reflection in the mirror of life
skin against skin, sweet agony of lovers;
for that instant I sigh.
