The horn of Africa on the world map is a beauty to behold. Traders from around the globe gather there to make exchanges of gold, spices, and aquatic splendor. The most exciting thing about the Horn of Africa which is located in the strips of Gaza is that it is the only water channel through which the middle east can be contacted.
In the wee years of the 19th century, a group of spouses from Lagoon City decided to take some time away from the bustling of city life to the middle east on a cruiser ship. Preparations for the journey took about fifty days to be solidified.
Chief and Mrs. Coker were one of the most prominent families that would be on the cruise. It would be their first time traveling through the sea. They had mixed feelings about old school. First, they had heard about the luxurious life and meals serviced on the ship and would want to experience it too, also about the live band that treats passengers to old school music. On the other hand, they had butterflies in their stomach concerning the new experience of traveling through the sea.
I can't wait to hit the dance floor on that ship.
Mrs. Coker said as they were lunch.
You know I've always won you when it comes to dancing.
Chief Coker made a jest as they continued eating.
Two days before they would embark on the journey, the Coker couple packed their luggage with high hopes of have an exciting trip. They packed their torchlight phone chargers in their luggage too.
On the very day of boarding the luxurious cruise ship, there were about four hundred couples, minus the cabin crew that caters to all passengers' welfare during the trip. In all, there were about nine hundred and fifty people on board.
The ship has fifteen restaurant of different cuisines and a large event hall that can occupy a thousand people at a stretch. Deck hands monitored the movement of passengers around the perimeter of the ship all the time.
Angelina (alias of the ship) sailed from the harbour of Eritrea by first honking loudly, announcing her sailing away from the seashores. It was a great first night as couples were seen in sleeveless attire on the open deck of the ship, watching the night star of Ethiopia and the appearance of the beautiful half-moon before they retired to their rooms.
When the ship was about to cross the horn of Africa at daybreak of the following morning, all the bulbs went out. There was total darkness and confusion in the ship. Several attempt by the engineers to make it come up, proved abortive.
None of the passengers could move an inch from the spot where they were before light out. Some of them were at the bar. Others were at the restaurant and only a few were digging it on the dance Seal as a live karaoke was on. At this point, everyone stayed where Everybody was when the power outage occurred.
Despite this misdemeanor, the ship kept sailing through the Mediterranean Sea. Only the captain could see the black sea through the sky, his compass was leading him aright.
Every body, kindly remain where you are while fixing this, please.
The chief deck hand announced. Chief Coker hard remained in his cabin whereas, Mrs. Cover was at the restaurant to get some food. There was total darkness in the ship. Chief Coker attempted to look for his torchlight in their traveling back but could not trace it. It was packed by Mrs. Cover. She knows how to plaster and keep things the best.
After two days of total darkness, Mrs. Coker sat in the restaurant. Chief Coker found the torchlight in the wardrobe of their cabin. It was the last place he had expected his wife to keep the torch. As he made an attempt to put it on, the battery was so flat that it could not bean a flash. Chief Coker gave up the hope of trying to locate his wife.
There had been three days without power supply in the fun ship which made the trip to appear like guard room for all the sojourners.
Alphonso, one of the new deck hands knew much about how luxury ship power supply works. He decided to ask for permission from the chief engineer to trace what may be the fault. He was authorized to carry out his amateur investigation. They were just one day away from the middle east and yet, they have not experienced the luxurious life that was said to be on the ship.
One hour after Alphonso got the permission to check what the problem could be, he found a drunk passenger who had switched-off the circuit box that controls the lightning of the whole ship. He pulled up the gear and light came on the ship. There was shout of joy.
Life returned to the ship after days of confusion and darkness. Chief Coker left his cabin and quickly went in search for his wife who he thought would be very hungry. When he found her, trying to cut through the crowd at the restaurant, he held her and they hugged each other tightly.
The dancehall and the restaurants ignited with activities yet again.
This won't be our last experience to cruise in this ship
Mrs. Coker whispered to Chief Coker after they had finished munching a dish of spaghetti with shrimps and red wine. They made their way to the dance hall to join other couples to have fun. It would be party all night long.
