Hello dear and appreciated community, in this new opportunity I bring you a new story I call it, the story of my grandmother.
In the 1950, when our grandparents or parents were young, it was said that from time to time there was a disappearance, on that occasion it was the turn of my grandmother's village. A young boy named Carlos was 16 years old when he mysteriously disappeared without a trace, in the middle of Christmas Eve.
Carlos was a very helpful and polite young man, even though his family was one of the poorest in town. 18 days before Carlos disappeared without a trace. Carlos had the habit of going every night to the river to bathe and to lie down on the shore to contemplate the stars.
One day Carlos comes running from the river telling that he had seen a girl in a white dress, with black hair and a beautiful face, walking on top of the water. Everyone made fun of him, the people said that Carlos had a very fanciful mind and others said that he might have eaten a hallucinogenic mushroom.
Carlos, seeing that nobody believed him, decided to continue with the same habit of going to the river to bathe and look at the star, 2 days after seeing that young woman, he went to the river at 7 o'clock at night, to bathe and look at the stars as he had always done, he saw that young pass by again. Without thinking he called her "Hey beautiful girl", without any answer, he thought that he had to do something to make this girl pay attention to him.
The next day he tried again to get her attention and still had no response. He kept wondering what to do, kept trying again and again. Every day, again and again Carlos tried without result, but he kept on without losing hope and in good spirits, because he knew that at some point he would succeed.
A few days before his disappearance, the beautiful girl he saw every night, saw him and went to him and when she arrived in front of Carlos, he asked her who she was, where she was going and how come she walks on water?, She smiles silently and walks away without saying a word, until she is out of Carlos' sight.
The next day, Carlos goes back to the river at the same time as always, to try again. He doesn't succeed, the next night he calls her again and she comes up to Carlos and says: "It's not your time yet, wait a little bit and you will see the beautiful place I always go to!Carlos, not knowing anything about this place, gets excited and decides to ask when it would be her time? She smiles again without saying anything and walks away until Carlos can no longer see her.
Carlos runs up to town and heads home to tell his family that he met a beautiful girl and that he would soon be going out with her, his family tells him who that girl was and what her name was, Carlos answers him saying that she is the beautiful girl who walked on the river, his grandmother hearing what Carlos was saying told him to stay away from that girl and not to see her again.
Carlos gets upset and responds by saying that he wouldn't do it, because he was in love with her and that no one could stop him from going to see her at the river. He runs to his room, locks the door and goes to bed thinking about that beautiful girl.
Only one day before his disappearance, Carlos returns to the river to ask her again when he is going to go with her to the place she always goes to. Carlos arrives at the river at the same time as usual and a few minutes after arriving, the beautiful girl appears and goes to him because she hears Carlos call her, When she is finally in front of him, she tells him what she wants to know and Carlos asks her when he will be able to go with her to the place she loves so much, she answers with a smile: "Tomorrow will be the day I get to know the beautiful place I love so much!
After she responds she leaves smiling, while Carlos excitedly runs home and enters his room, he lies down on his bed and all he does is think about what that place will be like, the place that the beautiful girl is looking for.
Finally the day of his disappearance arrives, Carlos wakes up early in the morning with great joy and starts his day helping to organize and clean his house. In the afternoon Carlos is near the supermarket and notices an old lady who lives on the same street as him. He approaches the lady and offers to help her carry the bags to her house and she accepts Carlos' help, the lady gives him a beautiful apple and he takes it with pleasure and at nightfall Carlos goes to the river to meet his beautiful girl.
When he arrives, he just starts eating the apple that the lady gave him earlier while he was waiting. Finally he arrives walking over the water of the river his beautiful girl, he excitedly and anxiously tells her why it took him so long to arrive. She smiling without saying anything, extends her hand to him and Carlos grabs her, she says "walk with me without jumping my hand". he responds by saying "you will sink if you try to walk on top of the water"! she just smiles and says "just walk!. Carlos begins to walk without looking down, they walk until he can no longer be seen by anyone.
His family, noticing that Carlos has not yet returned. They begin to worry, but only decide to wait because he thinks he must be helping someone. Hours go by and Carlos doesn't come back, so they decide to go out looking for him in the town and the river.
They search and search without finding him, they wake up looking for Carlos and as the days go by, other families join in the search for Carlos, days, months, years go by and nothing to find Carlos, little by little, some of the families that had joined in the search, stopped looking for him, and so on, until no one, not even his family, was looking for him anymore.
Everyone remembered Carlos with nostalgia. Ten years passed since his disappearance and one day a boy was bathing in the river and when it was already 7 o'clock at night, he observed a boy walking over the water. He ran out to warn the townspeople.
