Zoom... Zoom Bola's phone vibrated while she didn't pay attention to it, and some minutes later the phone vibrated again.
"Who is disturbing someone this early morning?" She muttered and picked up the phone to check who was sending her message.
"It's time to get together, April 1st is the code" Bola read it out and asked herself, "And who am I getting together with? It could be all these scammers," she said as she dropped the phone back on her desk to continue what she was doing.
Some hours later, Bola was set to leave the office when her best friend Tara called her.
"Hey Tara love," She said as she picked.
"Hey bestie" Tara replied.
"I just got a memo from the class captain that the reunion is taking place by April 1st," Tara said.
"Oh, that was reunion? I thought it was all these scammers trying to do April fool for people" Bola replied and Tara laughed.
"I can hear you laughing at me, Tara" Bola replied.
"Am sorry bestie, it's just that you sounded funny" Tara said.
"I don't think I want to be in that reunion of a thing because... Amm" Bola while Tara quickly replied to her, "Because... Of what exactly? Let me guess, because of your first cute love" Tara burst into laughter.
"Go away I don't even love you again" Bola replied angrily.
"I was just pulling your legs but come to think of it, this is our first reunion after secondary school so we shouldn't miss it," Tara said to Bola.
They talked for some minutes before the call ended
Bola and Segun happen to be in love with each other while they are in school but they can't come out plain to each other.
There was this other girl that was in love with Segun as well and she was bold enough to confess to Segun. He couldn't resist the girl and yes to her while Bola was left with one-sided love.
Tara who was Bola's best friend from childhood was the one that consoled Bola to take heart and move on. Some years after they finished secondary school, there was a rumor that Segun had impregnated the girl and they were getting married.
"Bola! Bola!! Bola!!!" Tara shouted as tried to wake her up.
"What now Tara?" Bola replied sluggishly after she opened her eyes.
"It's April 1st," Tara said.
"So? Is it Christmas day?" Bola replied.
"It's our reunion day now" Tara replied with a sad face.
"Oh! Really is that why you didn't let me have a sound sleep? It's just 9 a.m. and besides we are not the ones that will set up the chair so why disturb my sleep?" Bola asked angrily as she got up from her bed and went to the bathroom.
"You are being so mean this morning" Tara shouted while she left Bola's room.
They were both ready for the reunion party and Bola was looking so beautiful in her blue dress.
"Wow Bola you look so amazing," Tara said immediately Bola came out of her room.
"Thanks, babe I never knew I was going to wear the dress soon, I just bought it for a future dinner party" Bola replied with a smile on her face.
"Naughty you, who wants to take you out? You better let's go now" Tara said to Bola as they both headed out.
At the reunion party,
Most of their classmate was there already and they had introduced themselves before Bola and Tara got there. When they arrived, they took one table for themselves meanwhile Bola's gown and her pretty face got all the guy's attention.
Segun arrived some minutes after Bola and Tara settled in the party. All he was looking for was Bola because he was curious about how she would look.
Bola on the other hand didn't know Segun arrived so she stood to get a glass cup when a tall handsome guy walked up to her.
"Hey pretty," Segun said from Bola's back.
"Wow Segun, you look so amazing and even handsome," Bola said immediately as she turned.
"I get that a lot haha," Segun said and laughed then began to brag about his look.
They both chatted for some seconds before Bola left the bar but Segun followed her down to where she was sitting.
Segun and Tara exchanged greetings as well and the three of them started chatting, but some minutes later Bola asked out of her curiosity.
"Where is your wife?"
"Wife? When did I get married and I am not aware," Segun laughed and replied.
"I thought you got married to her, the girl that took you away from Bola back then" Tara replied bluntly.
"Oh.. oh now I get it," Segun said as he sat up to explain what really happened.
He continued..
"She got pregnant for me and we were about to get married when the father of the baby showed up, and that was why we got separated so I am not married neither do I have any baby anywhere."
"This is getting interesting" Tara replied.
"Stop Tara nothing is getting interesting because I know what you are trying to say" Bola replied as she faced somewhere else to distract herself from Segun.
But Tara makes sure they both get along with each other, the reunion goes well and Bola and her first Segun started dating a week after the reunion. Let's just say that the reunion brought them back together.
