Light
It was a little fisher village with funny name “Crook” the population of that place was only 5 thousand and many people knew each other very well.
Gary, was one of the fisher who loved his job and although he liked to spend time out in sea to get money to be able to support his family he also loved to spend his time at home with his wife and daughter who he loved very much.
*His daughter, Lucy was now 5 years and that was the sweetest time, she was a happy curious girl and by now she knew that when she is grown up she also will be a fisher. When Gary tried to explained that this is more men job she did not want to hear. *
“Do men catch fish differently than women?” - she ones asked. That made Gary to smile.
“Of course, no” – he answered. “There are just not many women fisher”
“Oh, then it is good for me, I will be one of the first!”- she said and sounded even more convinced to become a fisher.*
Since then every time when Gary had to go, she wake up with him and had breakfast together and walked with Gary to the pier. The other fishermen all knew Lucy and greeted her as their team member. She was their “Good Luck” angel. She was proud of it and loved to be a centre of the attention.
Once when Gary was away for already four days and was due to arrive on the morning of following day, there was a weather warning about strong wind and rain. It was not unusual to have such stormy weather and people in village got used to that. But this time due to some trees fallen on electricity cable there was a complete black out of the village.
The people from village were worried about the fishermen because they supposed to arrive at 5 o’clock in the morning and if the lighthouse light was not working then the fishermen would be not able to bring their ships to haven.
When Lucy heard that she knew what she has to do she took an oil lamp and run to lighthouse. She claimed the whole way up to the top and lift up her arm, holding the Oil Lamp in her hand.
She knew that her father will know that this is her, because he told her many stories about the old time when on the past people did not have electricity, but when they knew that fishermen were returning home they lighten up the Lantern and climb to the highest point of the land to guide the vessels to the haven.
Today, she was a light of the Crook, she knew that her father and other fishermen will see the light and say:
“That is our “Good Luck” angel”
