Time waits for no one, Versus, There's a lot of time...
Hello, it's your favourite Hivian Shine.
Some people say "time waits for no one" while some say "you're still young, so relax everything will fall in place". I've quietly pondered over this countless times and I must say that this mindset has to change.
First of all, we all know the saying Make hay while the sun shines right?... Now this saying has everything to do with Time.
Time is something you can never get back when you loose. Imagine having the mindset that you're still young and you still have time, this mindset will deprived you of many opportunities, you're going to be so relaxed, and will not want to take any actions to advance, even when the opportunity comes.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that as a young person you should pressure yourself into doing things that are way above your league, I'm just saying that, you should not use your young age as an excuse to stay relaxed and not do anything, even when the opportunity is right in front of you. You're not too young to start doing things.
Secondly, this mindset is what delays so many people from getting to where they are supposed to be. Now picture this, a man who is 35 years old is still looking for a job, yet to get married and have kids. There are so many possibilities that this man had that mindset while growing up. He probably got opportunities to explore and get himself ready for the future but overlooked it thinking he still has time. Now he's under so much pressure from people, his family and friends. (This is just an assumption).
What I'm trying to say in essence is that, as a young person, please utilise your time, time is something you can not get back when you loose it. When you get opportunities to do something, or to learn something, please do. Don't hide under the guise of I'm still young... You're young, but you can still do something meaningful for yourself so that you don't get to the age where you are supposed to relax and enjoy what you have worked for, you now start working then.
Whatever you're planning to do in the future, start now. Make your mistakes early, learn early, correct yourself early.
This does not mean that you should start pressuring yourself to the extent that you get depressed and you burn out. I know that trying to get things together for yourself, can sometimes be overwhelming, but it's okay to cry, zone out and take your time to get back on your feet, but don't let all of this get a grip on you.
Change your mindset about time in life. Time is very essential and can never be recovered when lost. Make very good use of your time. Every little opportunity you get, make something meaningful out of it. I don't know how to say this the way it is in my heart, but what I want you to understand is that, you don't have to wait; even if you are 14 years old, and you get the opportunity to learn about fashion or hair dressing (for instance) please and please go for it, don't say "oh I'm still very young". Yes you're young but the real question is "Do I really have time"? Just because any of your friends did it this way doesn't mean you should follow suite. A lot of people already wasted all the time in the world before finding out about this and you don't want this to happen to you as well
I also feel like at that young age, you have all the energy you need, all the activeness and enthusiasm that you need. You're most likely to have fewer things on your mind at that age, hence allowing you to focus and achieve that thing you want.
Trust me people will say lots of things, people will ask you "where are you rushing to?" Do well to not listen to them and move on. All you want to do is make something meaningful out of your life ON TIME!!
This message might not be for everyone, but if it is for you, trust me you'd know.
This is just my honest thoughts and opinions, REMEMBER; WASTE NOT, WANT NOT...
