She stood before them
Naked and looking vulnerable
Her face begged them to be kind
For their mouths to find
A way to speak humanity
Back to her emptied version
Yet there was not a single person
Who tried to soften their tongues
For her already bruised soul.
She stood before a mirror
Looking to score some sympathy
Craving toxicifed mercy
From her critic reflection
But only saw
The usual flaws
Glaring back at her
Demanding to be fixed
If self acceptance was to be breached.
She stood at the edge
A place where she once made a pledge
To chase what she believed in
But this time
Wishful to be seen by the wind
That promised to hug her down the stretch
If she ever found the strength
To leap into its nonexistent arms.
She stood there for a while
Fighting any memories
That involved her long gone smile
And relived the muffled cries
Every time her pillows absorbed her pain
Like the earth would the rain
Until some heaviness in her blood
Rushed to flood
Her destructive decision
With her loved ones broken faces.

Zero reasons why my mind went this way was but I am glad it did. What do you think?
