This story is so well paced. The cats are perfect for carrying the story forward and also for tying us emotionally to the story. Your description of the protagonist's progress through the suitcase is wonderful...everybody's nightmare. Being trapped in a maze that has no exit, or sense.

You show here how horror is not about blood and gore. Horror is about fear. Great technique.
