"You guys have really worked well for this few days," Max clapped his hands as he placed them on the counter. "To show you how grateful i am, i will give you guys my atm card to go the restaurant downstairs and have ever meal you want to."
The office erupted with cheers as they celebrated the generosity of their boss.
Max handed the card the Mary, as she was the team leader.
Mary took the Atm card off Max's hand and raised it up screaming. Everyone in the office joined her in cheering.
She led the way as she walked out of the office and the other eleven workers follwed behind her.
They got to the restaurant, each one of them made their order and it was a huge feast. They first did a trial round to see if the card works.
They spent the rest of the day there. Some ate to the extent they couldnt stand up again.
Ronald was one of the workers. He sat there and almost ordered one of everything in the restaurant. At some point he stood went to the restroom and came out after thirty minutes, and made another outrageous order.
You know what they say, most slim people are the ones who eat alot.
When they were finally done, Mary paid the bills and was given the receipt. She didnt even look at it because they were all drunk. So, she took the card home.
The next day, she brought the card to the office and walked straight to the managers office.
"What the hell did you guys eat that cost this much?"
The shout came from the managers office.
Immediately the office became quiet. So quiet that If a pin had fallen it would have startled everyone.
"I'm not the CEO, but i decided to do one nice thing for you guys and you are punishing me for it." He screamed.
Apparently Mary hadnt even looked at the receipt, she just placed it on his table thinking it was a humble amount that had been spent.
The likes of Ronald and Julia were a little afraid. Julia is a mother three. She had ordered for herself and when she was fully satisfied, she placed another for her three children. It was even rumored that she placed an order that would last her family for three days.
The more remarkable thing was that the restaurant had to start preparing meals all over again so as to satisfy the hungry eleven that day.
It was an amazing work day for them.
The receipt was one million, two hundred and thirty thousand naira.
The manager just fed five thousand, the only difference was that he wasnt happy about his miracle.
The whole office felt quiet that day, nobody wanted to talk.
During the break, they left to go have their lunch at the same restaurant.
But it was locked.
The restaurant was closed for the day due to the fact that the hungry eleven had finished everything even the provisions in the store.
