In a small rural areas, somewhere in Africa
There sat a young pretty girl of about seventeen years under a shady tree , lost in thought ,
This pretty young ebony skin girl by the name Louis is a young girl who had so many dreams while growing up, first she wishes to be a graduate and second she wished to become a medical doctor,
Her dream of a medical doctor was born as a result of her love for her mother, she always pray for her mother to live a very long and aged life before death, infact she wouldn't bear it if any thing happens to her mom,
Louis came from a family of five and she happened to be the second child, she came from a very poor home and her parents were not able to train her to high school yet they laid down alot of promises to her.
Every day, every month and every year her mom keeps telling her "my child tomorrow will be better"
But then in her little mind a particular question keeps popping up "when will tomorrow come?"
How will tomorrow come?
***What will propel tomorrow to come?.
Not that she has doubts for her mother's words but looking at the handwriting on the wall, it seems like tomorrow will never come,
First of all, all her effort to help her parents save up some money has proven abortive,
All her effort to secure a scholarship has also proven abortive, it seems like her world is coming to an end and she's gradually getting depressed.
As she sat under that shady tree in the cool of the evening, different thought ran through her head,
She thought...
"What actually is these tomorrow?"
"Is my mom trying to deceive me?"
"Why is mine different?"
Yet there are no answers to these questions.
She seems to be lost in her thought and did not realize that her elder brother Sam has been observing her for a while,
Sam decided to intervene and moved straight to where she was sitting, he taped her and immediately she sprung up,
It was then she noticed her surroundings, hot heat covered her whole body and she felt like someone who travelled yet her body was sitting on a chair.
Sam asked "sis what's wrong with you, I've been observing you for a very longtime and it seems you're lost in thought".
She gazed At her brother for A very long time and managed to ask
"Sam when will tomorrow come?"
"What is tomorrow to you"
Do you feel tomorrow has my name on its list?
Sam sat down very close to the sister, looked at her eyes and told her..
"Sis tomorrow is what we make of it, tomorrow doesn't just come but we shape our tomorrow into what we want it to become".
That night Louis could not sleep ,she pondered on those words , to her it felt like it was the first time she heard the actual meaning of the word "tomorrow will be better",
Right there and then she decided to control her tomorrow and not the other way round.
Louis wrote down a well planned strategy of how she will send her self to school and become a graduate,
At first she developed a strict saving lifestyle, she applied for as many scholarship opportunity as possible hoping that one-day she will be approved.
Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months and months turn to years and yet no results but one early morning after she had given up , after she had decided to do a different thing and forget about her unachievable goal,
A golden message appeared on her phone and the message reads .....
*** Dear Louis,
congratulations , you've been awarded a scholarship into our university to study medicine,
Reply as soon as you see this message or head to our office to finalize your scholarship form"***
To Louis it seems like she was dreaming,
She didn't know whether to be happy or sad, she became mute and suddenly a hot tears rolled down her cheeks but this time it was a tears of joy,
She couldn't believe her eyes, she couldn't speak neither could she laugh but her spirit was overwhelmed with undefined joy and fulfillment.
The next morning she rushed to the office and provided all the necessary documents she was asked to bring and she was asked to resume with others,
She used her savings to get foodstuffs and different other items needed to sustain her for the main time and she resumed with others.
She knew that her dream has been fulfilled yet she did not let go of those words her brother told her that very night under the shady tree,
She found a part-time job that won't interfere with her studies to sustain her all through her studies.
Seven years later she became a graduate of medicine and a fulfilled lady.
Thanks for reading till the end.
Yours faithfully: yummycruz1
