Aquí estoy, justo el 24 a las 7:42 pm, preparada para contarles lo que me gusta de la Navidad, tal como lo pide la iniciativa de la comunidad #Venezuela.

La Navidad es tiempo de amor. El amor es compartir y expresar sentimientos de humildad y afecto; manifestaciones que permiten el acercamiento de familiares y amigos. Durante dos años tuve unas fiestas navideñas sensacionales. Este año con mi hermano enfermo, mi ánimo no ha decaído pero sí me ha servido para reflexionar un poco y es que sin salud no hay celebración que se pueda compartir.
Christmas is a time of love. Love is sharing and expressing feelings of humility and affection; manifestations that bring family and friends together. For two years I had sensational Christmas parties. This year with my brother sick, my spirits have not declined but it has helped me to reflect a little and that is that without health there is no celebration that can be shared.
¿Cuál es la tradición venezolana de Navidad que más te gusta? / What is your favorite Venezuelan Christmas tradition?
Hallacas: Desde siempre lo que me gusta mucho de la Navidad es la preparación de las hallacas. Cuando mi mamá estaba viva, era todo un proceso hacer hallacas; desde lavar las hojas hasta amarrar las hallacas y sin mencionar el arte de envolver con hojas de plátano sin evitar que se rompa el material.
Ya todos crecidos y con familia se hizo rutina navideña la reunión familiar pero la preparación era responsabilidad de las que tienen mejor sazón en la familia, obviamente no era yo 🤣. Con la crisis país y la pandemia las reuniones desaparecieron; sin embargo los dos últimos años fueron para mí muy especiales porque pude preparar mis propias hallacas. Realmente esa actividad llenó mi corazón de mucha alegría, satisfacción y recuerdos que invadieron mi mente. Sentí que mi madre estaba conmigo dirigiendo mis manos en la preparación del guiso.
Hallacas: What I have always loved about Christmas is the preparation of hallacas. When my mom was alive, it was a whole process to make hallacas; from washing the leaves to tying the hallacas and not to mention the art of wrapping with banana leaves without breaking the material.
All grown up and with family, the family reunion became a Christmas routine but the preparation was the responsibility of those who had the best seasoning in the family, obviously it was not me 🤣. With the country crisis and the pandemic the meetings disappeared; however the last two years were very special for me because I was able to prepare my own hallacas. Really that activity filled my heart with a lot of joy, satisfaction and memories that invaded my mind. I felt that my mother was with me directing my hands in the preparation of the stew.
Regalos: Otra cosa que me gusta muchísimo es mirar la carita de alegría y sorpresa de mi nieto ( ahora tengo que acostumbrarme a decir mi nieto mayor porque soy la feliz abuela de otro nieto que nació hace poco) cuando encuentra el regalo de Niño Jesús debajo del árbol de Navidad.
Gifts: Another thing that I like very much is to look at the face of joy and surprise of my grandson (now I have to get used to say my oldest grandson because I am the happy grandmother of another grandson who was born recently) when he finds the gift of Baby Jesus under the Christmas tree.
Cuéntanos cómo celebran la Navidad en tu familia / Tell us how you celebrate Christmas in your family
En los tiempos de infancia, la Navidad era celebrada en casa con música de aguinaldos y parrandas. Dormíamos temprano porque a las 12:00 am llegaba el Niño Jesús con los regalos que eran entregados debajo de la cama. Era un pequeño presente puesto que a mi papá le daban buenos juguetes en la empresa donde trabajaba. Y bueno, como dije antes, las hallacas no fallaban a la hora del almuerzo. El día 25 despertábamos bien temprano para abrir los regalos.
In my childhood days, Christmas was celebrated at home with aguinaldo music and parrandas. We slept early because at 12:00 a.m. the Baby Jesus would arrive with presents that were delivered under the bed. It was a small present since my dad was given good toys at the company where he worked. And well, as I said before, the hallacas did not fail at lunchtime. On the 25th we woke up very early to open the presents.
Le dí continuidad a la tradición del Niño Jesús con mis hijos y mi nieto. El regalo de Niño Jesús de mi hijo mayor era colocado debajo de la cama, luego cambié la estrategia con mi hijo menor y comencé a usar el árbol de Navidad para dejar los regalos sin que me vieran. Este año fue imposible hacer hallacas apenas pude cubrir el regalo de mi nieto, gracias a Dios.
Básicamente, la noche transcurre entre la cena como a las 7:30 a 8:00 pm, oír música y conversar, y esperamos el nacimiento del Niño Jesús para que nuestros niños abran los regalos pero antes van a dormir o los distraemos para colocar los regalos en árbol de Navidad. Entrada la Nochebuena salimos a visitara los vecinos para desearles Feliz Navidad!!! Lo más bello es mirar la alegría y la sorpresa de los niños con sus regalos.
I continued the Baby Jesus tradition with my children and grandson. My oldest son's Baby Jesus gift was placed under the bed, then I changed the strategy with my youngest son and started using the Christmas tree to leave the gifts without being seen. This year it was impossible to make hallacas I could barely cover my grandson's gift, thank God.
Basically, the night is spent between dinner at about 7:30 to 8:00 pm, listening to music and talking, and waiting for the birth of Baby Jesus for our children to open the presents but first they go to sleep or we distract them to put the presents on the Christmas tree. Late Christmas Eve we go out to visit our neighbors to wish them Merry Christmas!!! The most beautiful thing is to see the joy and surprise of the children with their gifts.

Deseo que el hive ascienda más allá de las nubes para que siga impulsando a todos los que formamos parte de este ecosistema. Espero que nuevos usuarios engrosen la lista de la comunidad y que continúen los encuentros externos para darle una figura a cada cara que no hemos visto pero que dentro de la plataforma forjamos una amistad y de esta manera fortalecer los lazos.
Ya el día de Navidad pasó, ahora está cerca el año nuevo cargado de expectativas y proyectos. Espero que los tiempos mejoren en la plataforma.
I wish that hive will rise beyond the clouds so that it will continue to drive all of us who are part of this ecosystem. I hope that new users swell the list of the community and that external meetings continue to give a figure to each face that we have not seen but that within the platform we forged a friendship and thus strengthen ties.
Christmas Day is over, now the new year is near, full of expectations and projects. I hope that times will improve on the platform.
