Hablemos de las Meninas y mi triste historia de cómo me perdí esta exposición a cielo abierto en Caracas 😭 Me gustaría decir que me he perdido esta experiencia por motivos de viaje, pero la realidad es que yo viajé en el mes de Marzo y ellas estuvieron en las calles del Municipio Chacao en Caracas desde el mes de Enero, así que no hay excusas de haber estado enfermo o el trabajo, solo pensé que seguirían ahí más tiempo y no fue así...
Let's talk about the Meninas and my sad story of how I missed this open sky exhibition in Caracas 😭 I would like to say that I missed this experience for travel reasons, but the reality is that I traveled in the month of March and they were in the streets of the Municipality Chacao in Caracas since the month of January, so there are no excuses of having been sick or work, I just thought they would still be there longer and it was not so...
Los chicos que ven en la fotografía de la derecha son Carlos y José Alejandro, tenores de la coral, y quise compartir esta fotografía de ellos porque salen con una de las Meninas que estaban en las calles de Caracas, la Menina Orquídea, que representa a la Flor Nacional de Venezuela. Jhoxiris y yo la tuvimos de frente un día antes de viajar a España y aunque la apreciamos unos instantes, el estrés de las compras hizo que no le tomáramos ni una foto, pensamos que al regresar seguirían ahí, esperándonos para hacer nuestro recorrido, pero no fue así 😭 por eso no hay que dejar nada para después chicos; pero estos dos compañeros hicieron el recorrido completo y lo publicaron en su instagram. The boys you see in the picture on the right are Carlos and José Alejandro, tenors of the choir, and I wanted to share this picture of them because they are with one of the Meninas that were in the streets of Caracas, the Menina Orquídea, which represents the National Flower of Venezuela. Jhoxiris and I had it in front of us a day before traveling to Spain and although we appreciated it for a few moments, the stress of shopping made us not to take even a picture, we thought that when we returned they would still be there, waiting for us to do our tour, but it was not so 😭 that's why you should not leave anything for later guys; but these two companions did the full tour and published it on their instagram. Pero, ¿Qué son estas Meninas y por qué estuvieron tan corto tiempo en las calles de Caracas?... Realmente yo no sabía nada sobre ellas hasta este año, y hace poco me enteré que son la creación del Artista Antonio Azzato y que estuvieron en Exhibición en las calles de Madrid desde hace seis años. Estoy seguro que se me habría hecho más fácil hacer el recorrido en Madrid que en Caracas, pero como pueden ver, ellas me huyen 🤣 🤣 🤣 A su vez, estas esculturas están inspiradas en el cuadro "Las Meninas" del español Diego Velásquez, pero tiene la peculiaridad de presentar escenas características de Venezuela, como el araguaney, el beisbol, el petroleo, el Libertador Simón Bolívar y hasta de artistas de gran renombre.
But, what are these Meninas and why were they in the streets of Caracas for such a short time...? I really didn't know anything about them until this year, and I recently found out that they are the creation of the Artist Antonio Azzato and that they have been on display in the streets of Madrid for six years. I'm sure it would have been easier for me to do the tour in Madrid than in Caracas, but as you can see, they run away from me 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 In turn, these sculptures are inspired by the painting "Las Meninas" by the Spanish Diego Velasquez, but has the peculiarity of presenting characteristic scenes of Venezuela, such as the araguaney, baseball, oil, the Liberator Simon Bolivar and even renowned artists.
Para nuestra alegría, después de un merecido descanso de nuestros múltiples conciertos en España, llegamos un día a nuestra sede musical y una Menina nos esperaba en la entrada, la Menina Salto Ángel, que en mi opinión es una de las más hermosas porque se puede apreciar la escena completa en ella, la catarata más alta del mundo entre montañas, vegetación nubes y hasta el cielo, es una obra de arte muy completa y estará por dos meses engalanando la fachada de la institución. De momento solo sé que cinco de ellas fueron subastadas hace más de un mes y otra que representa al petroleo se encuentra en el Estado Zulia, no sé más información, pero me encantaría poder apreciarlas a todas en personas, si no es aquí en mi país, espero pueda ser en Madrid si regreso un día ❤️
To our joy, after a well-deserved rest from our multiple concerts in Spain, we arrived one day to our musical headquarters and a Menina was waiting for us at the entrance, the Menina Salto Angel, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful because you can appreciate the whole scene in it, the highest waterfall in the world between mountains, clouds vegetation and even the sky, is a very complete work of art and will be for two months adorning the facade of the institution. At the moment I only know that five of them were auctioned more than a month ago and another one that represents oil is located in the State of Zulia, I do not know more information, but I would love to see them all in person, if not here in my country, I hope it can be in Madrid if I return one day ❤️
