Feliz Día del Artesano
Cada 19 de Marzo celebramos el Día Internacional del Artesano su conmemoración es de origen católica ya que este día se recuerda a San José, padre de Jesús quien era Carpintero
La artesanía es un oficio que recrea nuestras costumbres, tradiciones y representa una fortaleza al tener implícita nuestra memoria histórica, además de ser una demostración de creatividad, imaginación y dedicación al trabajo.
Este oficio nos muestra formas de concebir el mundo, culturas, territorios conviertiéndola en referente identitario , es decir, las comunidades trabajan según las técnicas, herramientas y materiales presentes en su entorno, así, van apropiándose de los saberes, transformando, innovando de acuerdo a los avances tecnológicos, intercambios de saberes con otros grupos y culturas, aunado al desarrollo individual que les permite ir agregando y perfeccionando la técnica pero cuidando de preservar lo básico de la misma como valor patrimonial
En la actualidad nuestra sociedad de consumo le impone a los artesanos una fuerte competencia debido a la industrialización, producción en serie, abaratamiento de los costo, la promoción y distribución de las mismas acompañados de campañas publicitarias dejando ver la intención de desplazar a la artesanía como expresión tradicional puesto que provoca el olvido de técnicas, sustitución de materiales y procedimientos propios de cada pueblo.
Es justamente en los pueblos donde se alberga la historia, los modos de vida y allí encontramos este oficio al estar íntimamente relacionado con la geografía, la naturaleza, la espiritualidad, ejemplo de ello son las piezas artesanales elaboradas para usos rituales cuyo proceso de elaboración perdura en el tiempo a través de la tradición oral, tal es el caso de maracas, cestas, entre otras, casi siempre de uso chamánico.
La producción artesanal acompaña al ser humano desde tiempos remotos y a la par ha ido evolucionando y adapatandose a sus necesidades, en un principio su carácter era utilitario pero siempre ha estado presente la estética que apunta a la perfección y a la belleza de cada pieza.
Es de hacer notar que los materiales son muy variados, van desde la arcilla, piedra, hilo, semillas, piezas de mar, madera, fibras vegetales, cuero, plata, oro, vidrio, entre otros.
En el caso de la arcilla, se debe considerar que se forma de la descomposición de rocas durante millones de años, van añadiendose impurezas minerales y según éstos y el tipo de suelo le dan características y variaciones: color, maleabilidad, porosidad, clasificándose así para la elaboración de piezas en alfarería, loza, gres, porcelana, etc.
En la fotografía se muestran piezas en Gres elaboradas por el Maestro Artesano Bruno Crespo de la ciudad de Carora, Estado Lara, quien cuenta con más de 20 años moldeando piezas en el torno Con el tiempo, el estudio y la investigación ha ido perfeccionando y dando valor agregado a cada una de sus obras.

En textiles existen variedad de hilos resaltando el hilo de algodón, lana y otros. Son innumerables las técnicas utilizadas bien sea con telares, agujetas, a dos agujas, a nudos, entre otros en las que los hilos de colores forman hermosas piezas tanto utilitarias como decorativas.
Las imágenes muestran tejidos elaborados por la Maestra Artesana Mireya Castillo de la ciudad de Carora, Estado Lara. En el caso de la hamaca se usó el telar vertical propio de esta zona y las prendas de vestir fueron elaboradas con hilo de algodón con la técnica de ganchillo.

De igual forma, la artesanía en madera está presente en múltiples espacios de nuestra casa, desde la habitación hasta la cocina incluso en la oficina, sin dejar de lado la luthería o fabricación de instrumentos musicales usando el cedro, caoba, pino, nogal y samán negro, entre otros. En este oficio el Municipio G/D Pedro León Torres goza de un importante reconocimiento nacional al ser cuna de importantes Luthieres.
Y así, entre los múltiples saberes de nuestra gente que usa su ingenio y creatividad van aprovechando los recursos y perfeccionandose cada día.
En esta muestra fotográfica que tenemos a continuación vemos piezas elaboradas por el artesano Edixon David Piña de la ciudad de Carora Estado Lara usando vidrio o cristales cortados y ensamblados de forma tal que se convierten en hermosas piezas decorativas con motivos representativos de la ciudad.

Lo mostrado anteriormente es apenas una muestra del saber popular presente en cada rincón de Venezuela que cuenta con innumerables Maestros Artesanos a quienes hago extensivo mis Saludos de Felicitaciones en el Día Internacional del Artesano especialmente a los amigos y amigas del Estado Lara y el Municipio G/D Pedro León Torres, a todos mi reconocimiento por la labor que realizan a diario y de forma silente en contribución de la preservación de nuestra memoria histórica
Por último les invito a todos a dar el justo valor a nuestra artesanía, apoyemos a nuestros artesanos de forma consciente y valoremos el trabajo que con sus manos y su creatividad realizan como modo de vida y subsistencia.

Happy Artisan's Day
Every March 19 we celebrate the International Day of the Craftsman, its commemoration is of Catholic origin since this day is remembered Saint Joseph, father of Jesus who was a carpenter.
Craftsmanship is a craft that recreates our customs, traditions and represents a strength to have implicit our historical memory, besides being a demonstration of creativity, imagination and dedication to work.
In this sense, this craft shows us ways of conceiving the world, cultures, territories, turning it into an identity reference, that is to say, the communities work according to the techniques, tools and materials present in their environment, thus, they are appropriating the knowledge, transforming, innovating according to the technological advances, exchanges of knowledge with other groups and cultures, together with the individual development that allows them to be adding and perfecting the technique but taking care to preserve the basics of it as heritage value.
Nowadays our consumer society imposes on craftsmen a strong competition due to industrialization, mass production, lower costs, promotion and distribution of the same accompanied by advertising campaigns showing the intention to displace craftsmanship as a traditional expression since it causes the oblivion of techniques, substitution of materials and procedures of each people.
It is precisely in the villages where the history, the ways of life are housed and there we find this craft to be intimately related to geography, nature, spirituality, an example of this are the handcrafted pieces made for ritual uses whose elaboration process endures over time through oral tradition, such is the case of maracas, baskets, among others, almost always of shamanic use.
Handicraft production has accompanied human beings since ancient times and at the same time has been evolving and adapting to their needs, at first its character was utilitarian but has always been present aesthetics that aims at perfection and beauty of each piece.
It should be noted that the materials are very varied, ranging from clay, stone, thread, seeds, pieces of sea, wood, vegetable fibers, leather, silver, gold, glass, among others.
In the case of clay, it should be considered that it is formed from the decomposition of rocks over millions of years, mineral impurities are added and according to these and the type of soil give it characteristics and variations: color, malleability, porosity, thus being classified for the development of pieces in pottery, earthenware, stoneware, porcelain, etc..
The photograph shows pieces in Gres elaborated by the Master Artisan Bruno Crespo from the city of Carora, Lara State, who has more than 20 years molding pieces in the tornado. With time, study and investigation he has been perfecting and giving added value to each of his works.

In textiles there are a variety of yarns, highlighting the cotton thread, wool and others. There are countless techniques used either with looms, needles, two needles, knots, among others in which the colored threads form beautiful pieces both utilitarian and decorative.
The images show weavings elaborated by the Master Artisan Mireya Castillo from the city of Carora, Lara State. In the case of the hammock, the vertical weaving. typical of this area was used and the garments were made with cotton thread using the crochet technique.

Similarly, the craftsmanship in wood is present in multiple spaces of our house, from the bedroom to the kitchen even in the office, without leaving aside the lutherie or manufacture of musical instruments using cedar, mahogany, pine, walnut and black saman, among others. In this trade the Municipality G/D Pedro León Torres enjoys an important national recognition as it is the cradle of important luthiers.
And so, among the many skills of our people who use their ingenuity and creativity are taking advantage of the resources and improving every day.
In this photographic sample that we have below we see pieces are made by the craftsman Edixon David Piña from the city of Carora State Lara using glass or crystals cut and assembled in such a way that they become beautiful decorative pieces with representative motifs of the city.

The above shown is just a sample of the popular knowledge present in every corner of Venezuela that has countless Master Artisans to whom I extend my *Greetings of Congratulations on the International Day of the Artisan" especially to the friends of Lara State and the Municipality G/D Pedro Leon Torres, to all my recognition for the work they do every day and silently in contribution to the preservation of our historical memory.
Finally I invite you all to give the right value to our crafts, let's support our artisans consciously and value the work they do with their hands and their creativity as a way of life and livelihood.
