Hoy me encuentro compartiendo con ustedes mi primera participación en esta comunidad dedicada a hablar de la belleza de nuestro país desde diferentes aspectos, en esta oportunidad se trata de una parte de su cultura, específicamente sobre los carnavales y lo que más me gusta de ellos, agradezco a la amiga 
¡Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing with you my first participation in this community dedicated to talking about the beauty of our country from different aspects, this time it is about a part of its culture, specifically about carnivals and what I like most about them, I thank my friend
Venezuela es un país rico e cultura y tradiciones y unas de las festividades más alegres y coloridas que tiene son los carnavales, que justo se están llevando a cabo en estas fechas, hoy martes de carnaval todo el país se encuentra celebrando esta tradición luego de varios años de restricciones debido al Covid-19, hasta ahora no he tenido la oportunidad de presenciar los desfiles en persona pero de acuerdo a todo lo que he visto en las redes sociales han sido unas fiestas muy alegres y tranquilas.
Recuerdo los carnavales de los años anteriores, específicamente durante mi infancia como una festividad sumamente alegre y divertida, yo como todo niño aprovechaba estas fechas para jugar carnaval y disfrutar de las comparsas. Durante el día era muy común en mi calle reunirnos a jugar carnaval, cada quien en el frente de su casa preparado con bombas con agua para mojar a todo el que pasara y por qué no a nosotros mismos, eran unos días muy divertidos tanto para niños como para adultos y yo en lo personal los disfruté mucho.
Venezuela is a country rich in culture and traditions and one of the most joyful and colorful festivities it has are carnivals, which are taking place right on these dates, today Shrove Tuesday the whole country is celebrating this tradition after several years of restrictions due to Covid-19, until now I have not had the opportunity to witness the parades in person but according to everything I have seen on social networks they have been very happy and calm parties.
I remember the carnivals of previous years, specifically during my childhood as an extremely happy and fun festivity. Like every child, I took advantage of these dates to play carnival and enjoy the troupes. During the day it was very common in my street to meet to play carnival, each one in front of their house prepared with water bombs to wet everyone who passed by and why not ourselves, they were very fun days for both children as for adults and I personally enjoyed them a lot.
En las tardes/noches nos alistábamos para ir a ver las comparsas que tenían como recorrido toda la Avenida Bolívar de esa pequeña ciudad y eran tantas las carrozas que el desfile duraba horas, pero al menos yo lo disfrutaba mucho, la avenida siempre repleta de personas que en ocasiones obstruían el paso y era todo un desafío poder caminar, así que lo ideal era ubicar un buen lugar para ver las comparsas y quedarse allí hasta que pasaran todas, yo quedaba anonadada viendo tantos disfraces creativos, colores, luces y demás, me gustaba mucho poder estar allí y vivir esa experiencia, que por cierto extraño mucho ahora como adulta, no tengo ni una sola foto de esos tiempos, pero si les puedo decir que tengo muchos recuerdos y todos muy bonitos que aunque no los pueda mostrar en una fotografía los puedo seguir reviviendo en mi memoria al recordarlos.
In the afternoons/evenings we would get ready to go see the comparsas that had the entire Bolívar Avenue of that small city as its route and there were so many floats that the parade lasted for hours, but at least I enjoyed it a lot, the avenue was always full of people that sometimes they obstructed the way and it was quite a challenge to be able to walk, so the ideal thing was to locate a good place to see the comparsas and stay there until they all passed, I was stunned seeing so many creative costumes, colors, lights and so on, I I really liked being there and living that experience, which by the way I miss a lot now as an adult, I don't have a single photo of those times, but I can tell you that I have many memories and all of them are very beautiful that even though I can't show them in one photography I can continue to relive them in my memory when I remember them.
Varias veces llegué a presenciar también los carnavales de mi ciudad natal, Anaco, iba de visita a casa de mi abuela y mis tíos y primos me llevaban con ellos a disfrutar de las comparsas que también eran espectaculares, un recorrido inmenso lleno de carrozas, gente disfrazada y una vez hasta me mojaron en plena calle, eso si no me gustó.
En el año 2015 y 2016 ya viviendo en un pueblo diferente pude presenciar los carnavales y al igual que todos también eran muy alegres y coloridos, hacían el recorrido prácticamente por todo el pueblo así que aunque llegaras tarde te los podías encontrar en cualquier punto y unirte, todo terminaba en la plaza donde llegaban todas las carrozas y esperaba una tarima con música y animación, días antes de las comparsas se llevaba a cabo la elección de la reina y ella luego se unía a las comparsas a desfilar.
Several times I also got to witness the carnivals of my hometown, Anaco, I would visit my grandmother's house and my uncles and cousins would take me with them to enjoy the comparsas that were also spectacular, an immense route full of floats, people disguised and once they even drenched me in the middle of the street, I didn't like that.
In 2015 and 2016, already living in a different town, I was able to witness the carnivals and, like all of them, they were also very happy and colorful, they made the tour practically throughout the town, so even if you arrived late you could find them at any point and join , everything ended in the square where all the floats arrived and a stage with music and animation awaited, days before the comparsas the election of the queen was carried out and she later joined the comparsas to parade.
Estos fueron los últimos carnavales a los que asistí, hace unos 7 años ya, pues me mudé a una ciudad y estando aquí nunca he ido a ver las comparsas, luego llegó el Covid-19 y con él la prohibición de este tipo de eventos, pero, ahora que han vuelto estas tradiciones y realmente quisiera retomarlas y disfrutar de ellas, sin embargo, hoy ya es el último día de carnaval y me he perdido de todo hasta ahora por falta de combustible y el centro donde se realizan las comparsas nos queda bastante lejos, en estos días la ciudad es todo un caos y lo mejor es ir por nuestra cuenta y no contar con el transporte público, espero que el año siguiente si pueda ver las comparsas y no perderme nuevamente de los carnavales como lo he hecho en estos últimos años.
Si hay algo que no me gusta de los carnavales es disfrazarme, nunca lo he hecho y no recuerdo que mis padres lo hayan hecho, me gusta mucho ver los disfraces que llevan otras personas pero nunca me ha gustado disfrazarme yo, tampoco me gustó nunca ser parte del reinado del colegio, yo era una niña muy tímida y retraída y ese tipo de cosas no me gustaban, incluso una vez me eligieron como una de las candidatas para reina de mi salón en la escuela y por más que le rogué a la maestra que no lo hiciera aun así lo hizo, les juro que lloré y lloré hasta que decidieron sacarme de eso y menos mal porque habría sido una reina llorona jajajaja.
En fin, así es como recuerdo los carnavales de mi país, aunque lleve 7 años sin celebrar esas fechas ni ver unas compasas recuerdo mucho las de mi infancia y fueron muy buenas, a veces quisiera que esos tiempos volvieran, espero en los años siguientes poder retomar la celebración de estas tradiciones y disfrutar nuevamente de los carnavales tan alegres que se llevan a cabo aquí en Venezuela.
These were the last carnivals I attended, about 7 years ago, because I moved to a city and while here I have never gone to see the comparsas, then Covid-19 arrived and with it the ban on this type of event, but, now that these traditions have returned and I would really like to resume them and enjoy them, however, today is already the last day of carnival and I have missed everything up until now due to lack of fuel and the center where the comparsas are held is left to us Quite far away, these days the city is a complete chaos and the best thing is to go on our own and not count on public transport. I hope that next year I can see the comparsas and not miss the carnivals again as I have done in these last years.
If there is something I don't like about carnivals it's dressing up, I've never done it and I don't remember my parents doing it, I really like seeing the costumes other people wear but I've never liked dressing up myself, I never liked being part of the reign of the school, I was a very shy and withdrawn girl and I did not like that kind of thing, even once they chose me as one of the candidates for queen of my room at school and no matter how much I begged the teacher that he didn't do it, he still did it, I swear I cried and cried until they decided to get me out of it and thank goodness because I would have been a crying queen hahahaha.
In short, this is how I remember the carnivals of my country, although I haven't celebrated those dates for 7 years or seen a few bars, I remember a lot those of my childhood and they were very good, sometimes I would like those times to return, I hope in the following years to be able to resume the celebration of these traditions and once again enjoy the joyous carnivals that take place here in Venezuela.
